My Buick Rainier vent systems has 5 vent door Actuators. The A/C runs and blows cold air out the defrost and throught he floor vents but not out the front vents of the Dash board. Which of these actuators cuts off the air going to the defrost/floor and allows it to come out the front vents.

SOURCE: 2000 Astro van - vent

The problem is a 1/8 diameter hose that runs from the front of the engine over the top and connects at the rear of engine on the drivers side. It is a vacuum hose #GM15967970 It cost about $6.22 at your GM dealer. Hope this helps Bill. My E-Mail is [email protected]
This was posted on a problem with a 2002 astro, I do believe it is the same fix. A simple vacuum hose, It is difficult to route through the engine

SOURCE: PROBLEM WHEN SELECTING THE DIRECTION FOR THE AIR

Sounds like you have a supply vacuum problem. When you lose supply vacuum to the control head it defaults to defrost.

SOURCE: Dash vents will not blow air. Defroster and floor vents blow fine.

Is it a new vehicle? I had a new vehicle that had the same problem. Answer was that the holes weren't punched out of the vent.

SOURCE: 2003 Dodge Ram 4.7, AC barely blows except for

Could be a bad recirc door housing, or a bad mode door actuator. There are not four vent actuators. I do see alot of recirc door housings break, and cause the problem you describe.

I have a 1975 k5 blazer and it blows cold air it worked fine last year but now it only blows cold air even on the defrost setting what can the problem be and how can I fix it?

A vent flap actuator probably needs to be replaced. It's what moves your vent flaps from heat to A/C or to plain "vent air" when you change settings.

The discussion in the link includes vent flap actuators. Unfortunately, they also include the infamous no low speed fan problem too.

Cannot get any air from dash vents while defrost and floor vents work fine...

Your particular actuator will be a different one than they found.
They're all a absolute pain to get at because they can be well buried in the dash. I would start looking under the dash on the passenger side, that's where most of the air control is. Cannot get any air from dash vents while defrost and floor vents work fine...

2001 buick century custom a/c blows out defrost and floor nothing out vents what should i loook for

Sounds like one of your actuators are bad under your dash. Does yours have independent climate controls for passenger and driver? If not check under hood at passenger side and look for a bad vacuum hose near fire wall

96 Grand Am 2.4l A/C not equipped - Lots of cool air through vent. Almost no air to defrost. Blows hard to floor (great temp mix). Every vent setting? Mech just replaced heater core? What? Fine before

Looks like your mechanic messed up. If he has any integrity then he should take care of you. If not and you want to try and tackle it yourself then you have to ask yourself this: do I want to pull the dash out? Because that is what that will entail. Sounds like he may have messed up the ducting somehow. Unless the blend doors and directional doors are electric actuator operated in which case those actuators need to be replaced

AC issues

The problem is either an actuator or the door associated with it. Sometimes the gear strips, especially when the system goes thru a recalibrate after power has been removed and reapplied. Below is a diagram of the locations of the actuators.

2007 chrysler town and country a/c blows cold through floor and defrost vent but not dash vents

Often a sign of a blend door problem. The blend door or doors are in the heater a/c box behind the dash.

1999 Buick LeSabre - A/C blows only on windshield

Inside the heater box (under the dashboard) there are actuators that are similar to the ones that open your power door locks, they do go bad especially if any water leaks in from a bad heater core or windshield leak.(down the defrost vent grate). Also old age, my truck is a 2000 and I have replaced a couple of actuators.
