gas cap is loose or no longer engaging the sensor make sure it clicks. If not replace gas cap. Evap system is more than likely seeing this as a huge vacuum leak.
Hi Nancy, It means that you should take the vehicle for a diagnostic scan to find out why the warning is illuminated. It is showing a fault in the system which may have become nonoperational. have it seen to urgently. Regards and happy new year John
Hello! If you have an owners manual the symbols are described in it...If not, visit a dealer...They have a card with all symbols defined...I would need a better description to identify the one you are asking about..Is there a circle or an X involved? Send a comment...
That is a transmission warning light. You need to take it to a transmission shop where they have a special code reader that will tell you what the problem is. My car did the same thing was lucky found out it was just a solenoid in the transmission that needed replaced and not the trans itself.
The engine
shaped dash warning icon/symbol represents the "Check Engine Light", CEL for
short. It could be because of several things that can make the light come on. Perform a scan on the car and identify the error codes . Autozone can
scan the codes for free.
I have a 2001 ford taurus and the check gas cap light came on today, but my cap is tight and my fuel tank was replaced within the year.
