2000 Volvo S40 Logo
Posted on Jul 11, 2011

I have a 2000 Volvo S40 and the left lowbeam does not go on unless I tap the fusebox, located right above the hood pop. I am wondering if the problem would be with fuse 10a, 15a or 20a? Or if not those then what?

Check the relay switch. It is a small square box about 1"x1"x1" and when you pull it out, has 4 or 5 terminals depending on the style. some are long rectangles. They are located either in the fuse box or in another box specifically for the relay. Or you can do a search on google for headlight relay location. Also, try wiggling the fuse or better yet relace it. there should be a separate fuse for the right and left headlights. I am betting on the fuse because the headlight relay should control both lights, whereas each light has its own fuse. Hope this helps.

2006 volvo s40 2.4I. Where is the ECT(engine

Instructions
    • 1 Open the engine hood by pulling the hood release latch located on the lower kick panel on the driver's side of the Volvo S40. Lift the hood up and prop it on the hood prop.
    • 2 Locate the steering shaft that extends from the firewall to lower suspension located inside the engine compartment, by the front right wheel. Halfway down the shaft, you will locate the power steering pump. The pump is a black container that bolts to the driver's side of the engine block. On the top, you will find a cap that says "Power Steering Fluid."
    • 3 Look to the left of the cap. Bolted to the power steering pump is the thermostat temperature sensor. The sensor has a black round cap and a black wire extending out of the top.

Hood will not lock on 2002 Volvo S40

Check if the left and right hight adjustable stops are to high. If you put pressure above the latch and it works. This will most probably be the issue.

Want to replace signal fuse in volvo s40

i have a 98 s40. The fuses can be found internal (under the dashboard near the bonnethandle). Inside it you can find the fuse clamp and extra fuses. These can also be used for the external fusebox under the bonnet.
I have found the fuse that might be broken, but i can't replace it because it has some extra casing. It's for internal lights and the alarm.
