  • yes I know that the number 3 plug is a pain.
Just pull the shaft. Only one bolt holds it on. I can do my #3 in about 5 minutes, including removing and reattaching the shaft. Go in from the wheel well and get the bolt situated so you're looking at the head of it. Use a socket and extension and itll come loose very easily. You may need to pry the shaft off of the splines on the steering box. good-day !

There is no spark plug in the steering column so you don't need to change that one.

Spark plg change steering column in way

Your talking about the middle plug on the drivers side on a V6 right? Just did one for a customer a few days ago. I used the plug socket and then used an offset wrench on the top of the socket and turned it about 1/8 of a turn at a time. I have taken the column off at the bottom before, but didn't want to this time. It is time consuming. Be patient and it will come out.

Cant remove spark plug next to the steering column

The only way is to use a swivel socket adapter which is still hard to remove the plug. It does work if you have the ability to work with it

How do i change the sparkpulgs in my 1998 chevy blazer? it is 4WD. 4 door.

The plugs can be accessed by removing the front wheels and lifting up the flexible rubber splash shields on inner fender. All plugs are easily accessible with the exception of the #3 plug ( driver's side , center). Unfortunately the steering shaft is located right directly in front of this plug. Some people disconnect the steering shaft and move it aside to reach the plug but I have been able to remove the spark plug by placing the spark plug socket over the plug and then using an open end wrench or ratcheting box wrench over the hex of the spark plug socket.

Guaranteed, this # 3 plug will take as much time as the other 5 plugs combined. Good luck!
