try starting the car and while running disconnect the negative battery cable,if the car still runs turn on the head lights,if the car dies the alternator is weak. I think its weak and can charge the battery as long as the lights are off,but cant keep up when theyare on. so if drive most of the time in the day time you are ok as long as you dont have to start the car too many times. when you drive with the lights on and the engine slows to an idle like when you park the car dies. make sense?
if the clock resets then the battery voltage to the car is going to low make sure the battery cables are tight then try and jump start it with another car if it starts when jump starting it the battery is died
Sounds like a bad battery. A number of chain auto parts stores will check it and your charging system free. Before that, if your battery has removable caps, check the water level, if it's down, fill to the bottom of the fill rings and charge the battery, if you have a battery hydrometer, all the cells should have about the same charge level, if one or more show a lot lower than the others, battery is probably bad. Hope this helps.
Check the battery voltage with a multimeter. If the battery can't deliver a full 12 volts, the starter solenoid won't even
activate. It may be that a cell went dead, causing a direct short
inside the battery. Replace the battery if your battery is older than 3 years, or take it to an auto parts store to have it tested. The security light on is an issue many people have when the
battery is low and the car won't start.
It is also possible that the security chip on the ignition key is worn. If it isn't making contact properly, the computer won't 'read' the resistor, and won't start. You will need to replace the key to see if this fixes the problem.
The clock resets because the car battery voltage/current is so low that when the starter motor is turned the + 12 drops to less than 8 volts and so the CLOCK resets.
Please have the battery checked, check the starter motor , battery terminals must be tight.
sounds like a problem with the ignition barrel.the wiring is loose or the connectors are loose or the barrel is faulty, unless thse are all run from the onboard computer.
