SOURCE: '98 SL2 Saturn Traction Control

Traction control helps limit tire slip in acceleration on slippery surfaces. In the past you had to feather the gas pedal to prevent the drive wheels from spinning wildly on slippery pavement. Many of today's vehicles employ electronic controls to limit power delivery for the driver, eliminating wheel slip and helping the driver accelerate under control. Don't turn it off.

SOURCE: 1993 Saturn SL2 will not shift into highway gear

Saturn says and I quote

there transmission fluid is not to be changed after the first change at 6000 miles.

Now I say it should be changed at every 30000 miles. If changing out the fluid doesn't work then you need to go to a transmission repair shop.

SOURCE: myservice engine light came today rogh in idle at light rpms seem a little high this is a 98 saturn sl2 I think engine is a 1.9

the check engine light means that a code has been set. the code will reference a faulty system that must be diagnosed and repaired. sorry for the vagueness, but there are e gads of codes that can cause the rough idling

most aftermarket parts places will scan the car for free. this will give you an idea of where to start.

The accelerator pedal on my 2000 Saturn SL1 or SL2 stuck down at speeds over 65 mph while driving last night. It's in the 20's here in Wisconsin, and the car was sitting in the driveway for d

you don't have a choke.
Could be the linkage hanging up for sure.
Have it checked by a pro ASAP.
Although it's kinda easy to replace, its easy to go wrong if you don't know what you are doing and safety should always come first.

When pushing on the accelerator the car will just idle on my 2000 SL2 Saturn

This car has a fully electronically controlled throttle, so you must have the dealer or a well equipped shop run diagnostics to determine the cause of the problem. The throttle has not mechanical parts, just electrical sensors and a motor that opens and close the throttle blade.

Try replacing a valve called the Idle Air Control Valve, if your car has one. See if that solves it. Not sure where it is located on your specific vehicle.

Cant figure out how to remove outside door handle on 92 saturn sl2. need to work on window regulator. thanks for any help.

Lift up the handle and look closely underneath. You will see two small black plastic pins. These can be pushed out either way, you will have to buy new ones at an autobody/paint supply store to reinstall. When they are out, the handle will come off.

Sounds like you have a vacuum leak of some sort. Check all tubes and the intake for any hissing (while the car is on) to see if you can spot a vacuum leak. Check near the throttle body and the intake by the gasket to see if it has a leak in it. Spray some brake cleaner in some areas to see if you can see it as opposed to hear it.

A high idle like that is generally a vacuum leak and is probably effecting your transmission shifting if your able to get going in drive.

The other possibility if you find that there is no vacuum leak is to check the Idle Air Control valve (IAC) to make sure it is operating properly. It is a sensor on the throttle body. Also if the idle "resets" when you shut it off and turn it back on immediately then it is the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) which is also on the throttle body. If either have a problem you need to replace them.

My 1993 Saturn SL2 will start and run ok until it warms up. After that the idle will be close to stall and there is a distint lack of power. The check engine light does not come on.

Have the battery checked, how long has it been since you changed the fuel filter? It is rec. every 2 years. Have you changed the spark plug wires recently? you could have two wires backwards.

Racing engine

The idle air control motor is likely the problem. It is located on the throttle body. Also be sure to check any and all vacuum lines while it is doing this. If you hear a hissing noise, try to find out where it is coming from.
