I have a Toyota previa 1992, change engine run ok but shake a lot.Mechanic disconet everything from the motor( converter, drive shaft) live the motor running along. Still shaking, they say is the engine inside not balance. What do you think. Motor mount ok. What else. Bad motor.

Possibly, but you could also suspect the computer-controlled idle valve or motor, the throttle position sensor, or a weak fuel pump.

could be the head is cracked.
do you have smoke or steam coming out the exhaust?
how is the coolant level?
this engine WILL NOT tolerate running with out coolant.

try to change the coolant temp sensor.

Make sure that engine is not running with a cylinder miss fire, if that ok have your motor mount's check.

you need to replace the fuel sock in the tank and the fuel filte and do a tuneup wires plugs and cap.

On the tailshaft of the transmission there is a speed sensor. Under it is a gear, driven by the output shaft of the transmission. The output dshaft rives the gear, and the gear shaft drives the sensor, which sends a voltage to the speedometer for MPH. If this sensor is bad, you may also get a check engine light on. Remove the sensor, & inspect the gear. If the teeth are OK, replace the speed sensor.

I have had this problem before, the first time it was discovered that the stand that support the hood was not properly secured in the clip slot.
The second time the grill was loose. Check these before going to the mechanic.
