You can try changing the fluid but the 99-03 Odyssey transmissions were notorious for failure and yours is likely about to die, meaning a rebuild or replacement. Take a look at www.odyclub.com - you'll find a wealth of information on this.

2002 Chevy trailblazer LS, 205000 miles. Feels like slipping gears in drive and 3 , but will stay in gear in 2. Why?

Hey Frank... when was the last time you had the transmission fluid and filter changed?? this is classic GM transmission issues.. If the transmission fluid and filter are not changed every 50K-75K.... and they need a total fluid replacement about 100K - 125K.. they will start to act exactly like what you are describing...I had TWO 1996-2001 GM trucks do this..(I inherited both of them... they were NOT maintained)
the cost to "fix" each was $1200.00+.. after that.. they ran great...
Find a QUALIFIED Professional to do this...I went to the local drag strip.. asked around to see who was the best automatic transmission man.. (drag racers know this sort of thing!!) GLAD I DID!!!

I bought a 2001 honda odessey with 73000 miles the transmission gave up. i have it rebuild now it is 83000 miles transmission starting to slip

No transaxles make 100,000 miles

What your saying, including the rebuild
is common

Asian transaxles & all Van type vehicles,
are something you don't want to own

I used to own a trans shop,so I will leave
you with that

Can't fix slipping,drive a couple of days,
& your pulling the trans out again

My transmission slips about a hour of driving it or whan it gets hot. i can turn the van off and restart it and it seems to be ok . i can drive it again until it gets hot.

Do an old fashion transmission filter change and new fluid.

DO NOT use those transmission flush machine. It will damage trans.

Order the transmission filter kit and drop the pan.

Add the ATF to the right level.

A Caravan transmission is problematic. 80K-140K miles.

If you haul a lot of payload then the trans can be down at early as 75K!

Transmission flares

NO: 43-37
DATE: 2-25-2003
MODEL: MY 2001-2002 S60, V70, V70 XC
SUBJECT: Shift Quality Issues due to B4 Servo Cover Failure, 2-3 upshift harshness or flare
CHASSIS: These chassis breaks are approximate:
S60: 062000-152000
V70: 116000-230000
V70 XC: 036000-067100
TRANSMISSION SERIAL NUMBER: The first 3 digits of the serial number on the affected transmissions will be between 01C (March 2001) and 01L (December 2001).
DESCRIPTION:
In the AW 55-50, brake number four (B4), is only applied in 3rd gear. The B4 is applied by a piston, which is covered by an aluminum cap. This cap has a steel washer crimped to its inside surface, and a rubber cushion that sits between the cover and the washer.
If this washer breaks free from the crimps it will become concaved because of the B4 piston return spring pressure.
This loose washer can cause: - " 2-3 upshift flare / slip - " Harsh 2-3 upshifts - " 3-4 upshift flare / slip - " Harsh 4-3 downshifts
Replacing the broken B4 cover with a new one (PN 30651771) will remedy these symptoms.

I have a 2001 ford f250 powerstroke diesel was driving and transmision started to slip drove about 3 miles and now wont move forward at all but reverse works fine

Some of the Ford transmissions actually have an aluminum gear which will go out somewhere around 150 to 200 thousand miles. OR it could be really low on transmission fluid.

My transmission is slipping . How do I check the Fluid

You have to go under the car and check the level. It is much like the engine oil drain on other american cars. It is a nut/bolt where you have to eyeball the level of the fluid. There is no traditional dipstick under the hood. It has a sealed transmission and you need a special tool to check fluid levels. slipping transmission usually occur on high miles cars form worned or defects if its low miles. My personal opinion is that truck, suv and vans i recommend transmissions flush every 75k on hard driving or lots of pulling and 100k on normal driving. the only best thing to do is to take it to the shop, have it flush with new filter and see if it solved the issue, if not than you have transmission problems. again the tranny oil can be dirty and clogs up the valves in the tranny may cause it to slip and not engaged. if you have to replace the tranny, get it from junk yard or ebay for 300-400 bucks, rebuilt one will cost you much more.

Where is the battery? Transmission light, and it is slipping

it wouldn't surprise me if the battery is located in the trunk... as for the transmission... lucas makes a "thickener" for the transmission fluid. i have used it and gotten another 30,000 out of my transmission when it was having problems.
