Lots of probable causes of this...
Fuses, or relays. Or the refrigerant is low and the low pressure switch is preventing it from running, as a safety.
Check the fuses first, but Id also go ahead and turn the AC on and look under the hood while the car is running. Find the AC compressor, and both inner and outer parts should be spinning. If the inner part is not moving, the compressor is not kicking on. Most likely because the AC is low on charge.
