Some possible causes are there could be a bad light socket, loss of power for the wire that operates the signal.have you checked to see if the light works when you push on the brake pedal.if its not then you could have a bad signal switch in the steering colume.i`m guessing the front light is working as you don`t say.

The gm line of that erra runs their turn signal through the hazzard switch, when your turn signals are inop, try depressing the hazzard switch a few cycles, if this alows your turn signal to function again as hazard switch will be required to repair the problem, hope this helps

I had this problem with my car. Is ur hazzard flasher working? if they are working and the turn signals are not working. Try replacing the hazzard light switch. If the hazzard are not working then the combination flasher unit is bad. its what controls the signals and flasher.

Signal lights, fuse box and signal light relay in 2001 Volkswagen

The bulbs on these cars can be delicate. Some get replaced every year or so-( headlights, tail and brake) and some I've never touched in 8 years (my front turn signals and marker lights)

The fast blinking occurance is normal when a turn signal bulb goes out.

The rear lights are common to blow, I keep spares in the glovebox.

Make sure you were given the correct bulb, check to see that it works and isn't defective. Also there is an empty spot in the rear bulb holder- make sure you didn't mistakenly pop a bulb in there cause' it won't work.

The front right signal light is in the right headlight housing. Open the hood and on the back of the housing there are two plastic caps. One is curved and one is rectangular- you want to take off the rectangular one.

Open the drivers door and on the side of the dash there's a cover. This is the main fuse block. Use a coin or carefully with a screwdriver pry it open. To check a fuse pull it out, noting exactly where it came from, and visually inspect it to see if it is blown.

Fuse # 2- turn signal system
Fuse #4- License plate lights
Fuse #7- back up lights
Fuse #13- brake lights
Fuse #22- parking and side marker lights, right
Fuse #23- parking and side marker lights, left

The turn signal flasher is integrated into the hazzard button in the center of the dash. If all else is good and you suspect the flasher is bad, which is a good possibility, call a VW dealer and have them run your VIN# to check for recalls. The hazzard switch for some cars around your year had a recall on em'.

Turn Signal Not Working, But Parking & Back Brake Light Does

i would say try to replace the relay,(it should be in the fuse box) for the signals. if it's not that it could be the brain it's located in the colum of the steering unit.
