My 1987 pulsar with a CA16DE DOHC looses fuel pressure when it sets over night. I have replaced the fuel pump and the external return valve on the tank. the injector seals at the intake are in good condition. The injectors are the ones with the hose that is crimped at both end. Any idea why it loosed pressure and seems like it is out of gas at first start up. It starts good after that.

Most turbo cars have an overpressure switch which cuts the fuel pump or ignition. This is to protect the engine in case the wastegate fails and there's nothing to limit boost. Some are a stand alone, adjustable unit while some are built into the ECU. (If there's a pipe connected to the ECU it will be for manifold pressure/vacuum) I don't know where yours will be so you'll need a decent manual or try tracing pipes to see where they go. I'd recommend the former.

OVER HEATING AND PERFORMANCE ISSUES

hi, I have a 91 Nissan Terrano 2dr TD27 engine
When I first got the car all was good apart from the turbo coolant hoses needing a bit of TLC.
I am now having overheating problems which have progressivley got worse, to the point of which i drive on the road more than 20 min and it starts to get up there in heat.
I have removed the viscous fan and replaced it with an 16 inch thermo fan with a temp switch, and still have the same problem, I have had it off road since and if I dont put my foot down its not as bad like if i just cruise or some thing but if I try to climb a dune i get half way and temp is almost on 3/4.

The other issue i have with the old girl is its so gutless its not even funny, I have put a boost control in as well as boost guage, and the most i get out of it is 6psi and im sure thats not normal.

if any1 can give me any info that would be great
Thanks Neil

How to turn up the turbo psi boost in a 2005 ford f-350 6.0 liter Superduty

You just can't turn up the turbo boost any more with the new engines. If the turbo start to boost more then the PCM is programed to, it will cut the fuel pressure down and you loose more HP. Here is a link for you if your looking to get good HP out of your 6.0 liter diesel. You can replace the wast gate for the turbo with a higher PSI rating but your going to have to by a electronic boost builder for the PCM so it will not kill the fuel pressure soon as you start making more boost. http://www.thoroughbreddiesel.com/bd-diesel/turbo-boost-builder.htm and http://innovativediesel.com/ Good luck and hope you get the HP your looking for to get out of your engine.

Bad MPG

try some of the Lucas product for diesel engines,
diesels are made for hard work/pulling. not for fuel economy
the best thing you can do is to keep the fuel filter changed as often or sooner than the manual recommends. it will be the heart to a happy diesel

Where is ccoling temp sender 1.6 96 nissan 200sx

This is for the 2 litre SR20DET engine so not sure if that's what you have - never heard of a 1.6 version. Below is the exploded diagram and a test for the sensor.
