i havne a 1996 peugeot 306xldt. Recently it has developed a problem and is running very lumpy. Ive replaced the air filter, glow plugs and tried injector cleaner which have made things a bit better but not cured it. It is also difficult to start and is blowing grey smoke out esp when cold

SOURCE: where is gearbox oil refill plug on peugeot 306

it is a 19mm bolt on the side of the gearbox it takes ep 75 90 gear oil if it helps

I've been looking everywhere, I need a diagram for a Peugeot 306 2L Cabrio 1997 with aircon, replaced the alternator and for the life of me can't get the belt on

The Haynes repair manual contains a couple of typical diagrams - I usually make a diagram before I start such a job after learning the hard way...

There is usually only a couple of choices of belt routing and sometimes three - one leaves the belt loose and one is impossible. The right way is also impossible unless the tensioner is fully retracted.
Late models, incidentally, use a stretchy belt and has no belt tensioner. Manufacturer recommends cutting off the belt when work is needed and a new belt is wound onto the pulleys using the special tool provided with the new belt.
