2001 malibu rear driverside window off track

How do I dismantle rear driverside door panel to access window track, etc? Motor is working up and down, but glass is off track. Can pull window upand down with bare hands, but slowly drops down while traveling. Currently, have good ole duct tape holding it up to keep weather out.

Just take a phillips screw driver, and a good sturdy putty knife, and your fingers, and just pry the plastic away from the metal of the door...

Open the door first, and where the inside door handle there should be 1 or 2 screws, and one near where the handle is to open the door from the inside. Take these out first before attempting to pry off the door panel. The panel is held onto the door by plastic snaps shaped like an enlongagted tooth.

Use COMMON SENSE AND BE GENTLE YET FIRM....

Don't be surprised if you have to get a whole new window motor assembly, alot of times they come as one assembly and seperate parts do not exist. Good Luck!!

Rear passenger window is stuck and wont go up or down

I've had this happen on both rear windows of my 1999 Malibu. It is the window regulator, which is a motor mounted on a track. The motor moves a guide along the track via a cable, which is strung along two wheels at either end of the track. The guide holds the window.

The weak link in all of this is the guide. A plastic piece on one side holds it to the track, but it isn't very strong. If it breaks, the guide will slip off the track under pressure (i.e., when you're rolling the window up).

You can "restring" the cable, and it might hold for a little while (held on by tension from the cable), but your best bet is to buy a new one on-line. Cost about $90. Removing the door panel is the hard part. You should be able to find a video online on how to do all this.

99 Passat driverside power window not on track. How to dismantle enter portion of the window? And determine how to place back on track.

remove the door trim, prise handle cover off remove 2 screws, remove console switches,2 screws around door card and then remove door courtesey light plug.Gently remove door card and remove any parts like door trigger etc and be gentle with door knob and once removed ther will be a steel plate covering the door.Look halfway down on the left and right and remove the black plastic/rubber lugs then lower the window untill you see the window track and the 2 bolts that secure it.Loosen the 2 bolts slightly and position window the tighten hand tight and test then tighten hand tight and a quarter turn when happy and lube with a spray inside to keep the cable happy and from snapping.assembly is reverse of what you did so take notes.

My passenger window won't go down

you should check the fuses first, then ensure power to the motor in the passenger side if no power check the switches for the power windows. Also it is common for window motors/ regulators to fail and have to be replaced. If the driver's one is running slowly remove door panel and lubricate the cables and tracks with some rust check or wd 40 etc, etc... and silicone lube on the guide tracks at either end of the window. hope this helps

Rear window keeps dropping on a 2001 Olsmobile Aurora

The motor may be faulty or the track may have came off the motor gear. You will have to remove the screws and pry off the door panel to gain access to window, frame, and motor

Right rear window is off the tracks. How do I remove the panel?

if the window is off track the regulator is probably bad. to remove the door panel should be a couple of screws by the inside pull handle and possibly one by the door handle itself also check the bottom of the door for any then just pull it off and lift up to clear latches and remove plastic film to get to inside of the door

Drivers door panel removal

The book says 1. remove power accesory switch panel by using suitable flat blade tool at front. 2. Disconnet electrical connections.
3. pry door handle plug by using small flat bladed tool
4.remove door trim handle mounting screws
5. remove door trim panel from retainers.Start at rear bottom corner and pry outward.
6. remove door panel.
KD does make a tool that will properly pry the door panel away from reainers. KD 3705 You might get by with a screwdriver.
One other thing you may need to have the window down to get the panel to come off. You will have to lift up on it once it is loose from the fastners.
Hope this helps you out.
