I have a 2001 volkswagen jetta and I've recently taken my car to be serviced with an authorized vw dealer. Ever since I got it back my ABS light comes on every so often (doesn't really seem to give me problems), when I start my car it sounds like it's screaming, and just this morning my car made this loud high-pitch sound, I tried slowing down and speeding up to make sure it was me and not the person next to me. It seemed like the slower I went the longer the sound remained (about 10 seconds). As for the sound, it was very high pitched almost like the chirping of a bird. I'm not sure what it is but I don't want to wait and hope it'll pass because that's certainly not normal.
Does the noise and light occour at the same time ? another cause of a high pitched noise can be slipping drive belts, alternator, powersteering etc so check them for tightness, condition etc, does the noise happen when car staionary and just rev the engine ? if so i would say it is the drive belt/s, go back to the VW dealer re the ABS light and get them to check the OBD as should be done as part of the service , hope this helps

the window clips let go of the window .... there is a recall for this and should be taken back to dealership to have upgraded clips installed on regulators on both sides

In 2001 the "Check Engine" light might give information about what's going on with the transmission. You may want to have it checked by a shop before the transmission decides to die. It might be a simple fix.

Both.
Mcpherson struts front and rear.
The shock forms part of the strut.
