You may want to remove the penny from the cigarette lighter...

However it sounds as though you should take another minute or two and check all your fuses and replace the ones affected if any.

Try disconnecting the battery and leaving it for 1 hour before connecting it back up again.
Then, assuming that all fuses and maxi fuses under the hood are fine, and the battery is stioll good with a full charge. As well, the car actually starts.

You'll need to remember that the car will need to be put through a system relearn process in order to run properly.

I just noticed the my first reply was apparently cut short. I was suggesting that you should check the fuses for the Lighter

You should have approximately three different fuse distribution blocks ont hat model. the first under the drivers side of the dash and the second is either under the passnger side dash, or under the back seat on the drivers side. Also under the Hood there is another Called MAXI Fuses... It is located nearest the firewall on the passenger side. Be sure to check all of these and verify that the fuses are good, and properly seated.

If all checks out ok, none are burnt or sitting tilted in their socket, You may want to check the fusible link at the starter as it may have very likely burnt out. If your not aware that these links have a rubber coating on them or what they look like, I suggest that you should ask a buddy, neighbor or maybe a coworker to help. Because to many people looking, these may look good but they need to be tested for battery voltage up beyond the length of the rubber coating where it turns into a plastic covered wire. It is very possible that this is what burnt out and you will need to replace it in order to start your car.

    Again, I wish you well

I have a 2001 DHS Deville Cadillac I lost power for interior lights cigarette lighter power locks and trunk I've tested all fuses and all good how can I get this fixed?

It really sounds like it is your cigarette lighter fuse, but could possible be a problem with the BCM. If you double check the cigarette lighter fuse and find it to be good, getting power in and putting power out. You might end up at the dealership for a BCM module diagnostic.

Turn Signal/ High Beam Lights/ Driver Window/ Horn suddenly not working! Help!

These are just ideas, but In my simple attempt....start with checking, or have someone check every fuse in the fuse box. Another thought is that the turn signal indicator arm that controls blinkers, high beams has finally gave out. And when it did, it might have shorted out the horn. Being a 1993, it has probably seen some usage. Does the cigarette lighter work?? Also check the fuse in the fuse box that controls the horn, because in some of my experiences, the cigarette lighter and the horn are sometimes on the same fuse.

Penny dropped into the cigarette lighter of my 2008 saturn astra. I got the penny out, but the cigarette lighter doesn't work

hi,

there must have been a weak connection somewhere in the line.
use a volt meter to trace from the lighter to the fuse box.
I have also seen the wire connection go bad during a short in the back of the fuse box itself where the wire goes in.
follow the 12 volts and you will find your problem.

I need to know where a few fuses are: the horn fuse, the cigarette lighter fuse, and the radio fuse.

The fuse box will be located on the drivers side on the firewall. The fuse for the cigarette lighter is the one marked with DM and the radio will be marked RDO.

Dig the penny out first with something like tweezers..then change the Cigarette lighter fuse in your fuse panel. Location is on side of dash on drivers side behind the fuse panel. The cigarette lighter shares the same fuse as the door locks.

Check the grounding wire to the light. Depending on the state you live in, rusted ground connections will cause this problem.
