When I unlock the doors with the electronic button, this door won't unlock. When I manually unlock it, it locks again. When I try to actually open it with the button, it just beeps three times and doesn't try to open. But it does slide ok manually once I do get it unlocked. Some advice about fuse 13 didn't work (although it did reset the clock). This is all I tried. Any help?
I had the same problem and it ended up being the sensor for the gas door. Another symptom in my case was the gas door not openning. The sensor doubles as a spring to pop the gas door open. I didn't want to mess up my storage compartment like danielbeaty, but it was harder. I took the kickplate off and the trim from around the rear panel, and a couple of screws, and was able to reach in and unplug the sensor. I'm in the process of posting the procedure in more detail.
The instructions on chuckfurlong's site fixed my issue. I used the info to remove the panel - disconnected the sensor, and door works now. I just needed a bit more room to get to the sensor then prying the panel would allow. I had the same problem, but was able to play with the gas door sensor from the outside, and that made it work. Amazing. I had originally tried the thing with the fuses and that did not work.

Ok on most 2002 to 2004 honda odyssey's have some major problems most are from the transmission going out every few thousand miles. Anyway if it's the driver side sliding door if you notice when the gas cap is open it wont allow you to open,or the door will just lock it can mostly be the actuator with is a little switch of some sort in the gas cap when pressed down the door knows it can open when not all the way the door knows either someone is filling up the tank. So a easy way to fix this is check your fuel door get a flash light look at close as you can to see if it's making contact with the actuator if not maybe the door is a little bent. It's a simple fix if you know what your doing or at least have the common sence not to screw up anything now if you cant notice a bend in the fuel door then! you need to find the wire to that switch mostly its either under the left foot panel on the sliding door floor at the edge where you step to enter the van pull that piece up. You will notice wires all surrounded in a black tubing for the 2002 odyssey i am pretty sure the wire is red/or yellow it can be diffrent so i don't know for sure. If you know someone who is great on honda's they would know for sure then you just cut that wire because the door wont know if its either closed or open the fuel cap so it will allow you to open and close the left sliding door. Problem solved just put tape over the wire you close (elecritical tape) only then put all the panels back and you are good to go. You just saved your self $$$ from dealers if not under the 10 yrs 100,000 mile warranty the last place you want to go is to the dealer to fix something if not under warranty they will screw you over so bad its not even funny for something like this its about 500$ to fix. I fixed this last night. It was not the actuator in the door. The van has a switch in the fuel fill door that will not let you unlock that door if the fuel door is open. I simply cut the wires coming from that switch and the lock operates normally. It's GETTING to that switch that's the tough part. The little storage cubby in the 3rd row under the window on my van was already broken so I forcefully removed it with large screwdrivers (it's screwed in from the bottom) and I could then see the cable and wires. If you have the time and patience, you would remove that entire rear quarter panel to get to the wires, but that involves removing part of the headliner, both seatbelts, lots of trim, etc. (easily an all-day affair) Depends on how nice your van is! Honestly - I regret destroying my cubby but I knew the lock would drive me and my wife crazy and did not have the $$ to pay a dealer to fix it. It used JB Weld to put the pieces back together and drop it back in there so it's somewhat functional but it looks pretty crappy. Anyway - email me with questions: [email protected]
I had the same problem with my driver side slide door. The manual tells you to remove a fuse but the wrong one. First make sure you have the power off for the slide doors and that they are closed all the way. If you look under the drivers side there is a fuse panel. Take the cover of and pull the #7 fuse. Wait about 2 minutes then replace the fuse. Turn the key 1 time and turn the power back on for the slide doors. Use the remote to open both doors and they should work again. This is a reset for the van doors.

Sound like you have a dammaged door latch assembly. It is a pain but you have to take the insid door trim panal off to see what you are doing and make sure the latch assy is un locking. Dis connect power door lock motor linkage to make sure motot is not jaming the lock in the lock possition.

I have an 2009 Odyssey and my gas door sensor also broke, leaving the gas door stuck shut and the sliding door not functioning. It is the plastic plunger portion of the sensor that broke on my car, it was broken by a gas attendant at Costco, Does anyone know the part number for the sensor, I want to replace it ASAP.
3 hours later and its the gas latch that was not closed all the way.
