I have a 2000 s10 that needed a new ign switch. i put in the new switch but am having the following problem; the engine starts, and then immediately stops. i believe this has something to do w the anti-theft system. i have tried reseting the pcm without luck. how can i fix or bypass this?

I just had this same problem with a '96 . do you have a vats key in your '94? you need to bypass the VATS system. read some of the blogs on this site and it will tell you how to do it. I fixed mine with a $2 resistor from radio shack.

the anti-theft system is tied into main computer system, try disconnecting the neg battery terminal for about five minutes. if that doesnt work then it will have to be reset by the dealer

no. the computer is told to start . if you bypass the system. the computer thinks that the car is being stolen and will not allow it to start.

all dash lights keep coming on and either stay on or flash until you step on brake....also the dinger keeps dinging until you press on the brake.....we have had a tech work on it but have no idea whats going on.....HELP
