Buy a new wiper arm at a dealer, buy a used wiper arm at a junkyard or on eBay. there is a spring in there which has a problem and it is easier to just replace the arm than fart around with that spring. note the arm will be the same on any big FMC model 98-02, but make sure your replacement is for the same side as the driver and passenger arms are generally not quite the same.

take the nut off the old arm, jiggle it up and off do not pry against the glass. before you take the old arm off put a piece of tape on the windshield along the top edge of the wiper blade to make sure you put the new one on in the same place.

How to take off the rear windsheild wiper on a 94 grand cherokee

You will need a 13-inch wiper blade for the rear window. 1 - When removing the wiper blade lift the wiper arm away from the window. ----- 2 - With one hand holding the wiper arm press the small tab on the underside of the wiper blade where it meets the wiper arm. ----- 3 - Slide the wiper blade off of the arm by pulling the center toward the bottom of the arm.----- 4 - Lightly lay the wiper arm on the window.----- 5 - Prepare your new wiper blade by taking the curved part of the plastic clip and line it up with the curve of your wiper arm. ----- 6 - Lift the wiper arm and press it through the center of the wiper blade up and over the plastic clip. 7 - Pull the wiper blade up until it clicks. Place the arm back on the window.

Cannot get the wind shield wiper motor back in the wind shield wiper stops in the middle of the wind shield

this is normally caused by a bad wiper motor or binding of the wiper gears and linkage arms.
check to see if the linkage arms are tight and not loose. also try and lube up the pivot points.
another thing to check is to make sure you have 12 volts to the heater.

Replacing windshield wiper motor

Remove the wiper arms. Take out the screws that hold down the wind shield cowl. Unplug the wiper motor (center driver's side) by pulling out the red clip on it and squeezing the tab. (Mark which arm came off which side) remove the 13mm nut from the wiper motor idler arm and take out the 3 10mm bolts that hold it in.

Windshield wiper arm

you need to get a tool for that job or you can gently pry undernieth it with a small prybar reinstall the nut flush to the top of the stud and try to tap on it while prying it should pop off.remember be gentle it is pressed on and you do not want to ruin the threads to hold the arm unless you are replacing that as well.

2004 grand prix driver side wind shield wiper going past windshield and now is not in sync with other wiper arm,and still moves past windshield and jams up.

The arm is stripped onto the stud its pressed into which is call a wiper transmission. That part mounts to eack ww blade then to the wiper motor. You need a new transmission and maybe a new wiper are as well

Putting on wind shield wipe for a nissian maxima 97

in the center of the wiper there is a little plastic, black piece. turn the wiper blade so that blade and the wiper arm make a "T". there is a tab on that black plastic piece that you have to push in, and at the same time you have to push the wiper blade down. easy

My 2001 Buick Regal driver side wind shield wiper arm is stripped, it wipes at random. Please help

i don't know what you mean by stripped, but iam gessing you mean it won't stay on the windshild when it wipes. have you tride another blade? if not i would try that first. if that dosent work you may have to try another wiper arm. all wipers will do what yours is doing when conditions are just right. you can minamise this problem maybe with a double wiper blade. hope this will help. OLD SCHOOL.

Wind shield wipers stop in center of window

Sounds like a linkage (wiper transmission) problem. But, put an external ground wire to the wiper motor first and see if they work then.
Also many wipers have a fastening nut on the wiper arm where it attaches to the stub that goes through the body. These may have loosened and gone out of adjustment. If so, loosen them and re-position arms, then tighten them down.
