Misfire could be a number of things:
a) spark plugs - change them if used over 15K miles - inspect/regap.
b) spark plug wires - change them if over 15K miles - inspect
c) ECM (electronic control module) - test with HEI (high energy ignition) tester.

The shaking tells me that the engine is running on less than its normal compliment of cylinders - the shaking is produced by the imbalance caused in the engine by one (or more) cylinder(s)
not firing at all.

The "Check Engine" light probably is coming on due the the misfire condition. Go to Pep Boys or
Advance Auto Pats, where they'll tell you (free) your codes causing the "Check Engine' light to be
lit - the code coming from your truck's computer will probably be one or more of:
P0300 - Random/Multiple Cylinder misfire detected
P0301 - Cylinder 1 misfire detected
P0302 - Cylinder 2 misfire detected
P0303 - Cylinder 3 misfire detected
P0304 - Cylinder 4 misfire detected
P0305 - Cylinder 5 misfire detected
P0306 - Cylinder 6 misfire detected
P0307 - Cylinder 7 misfire detected
P0308 - Cylinder 8 misfire detected
P0313 - Misfire detected with low fuel

SOURCE: service engine soon light comes on and engine in

The blinking light indicates a sevier miss fire. Get the codes scaned to determine which cylinders and we can go from there.
Auto Zone will scan codes free of charge.
Chances are you have an ignition coil or injector driver issue.
let me know.

My 2008 dodge charger shakes when i drive and when i stop at a red light

If your service engine light is on, read the codes. It could pin point the problem. Look at the harmonic balancer to see if it is coming apart. You may have a cylinder miss. Lots of possibilities. Here is a post to help you look

2001ford ranger engine light flashing, vehicle lightly shakes when idle, decrease in acceleration, gas cap seal tightly, no leaks, no indicating sounds-such clanks, tings, bangs

A blinking service engine light indicates an engine miss. Take your car into any/most parts house and they will use a code reader/scanner to see which code number is being set and then identify your engine cylinder that is not functioning properly. Once you identify the cylinder you can start to check different systems, spark plug, wires, injectors, ect. to find your problem and fix the miss.

Car shaking at idle, no engine check light

Sounds to me that you have a cylinder miss fire. Chrysler products generally set a code when a miss fire is detected. Does the shaking go away under a load (while driving) ? If the miss is always there I would focus on the ignition system and look for any vacuum leaks around the intake manifold area .

Car engine light on light blinking shaking over due for oil chang

Your engine has a cylinder miss-firing, that not only shakes the car but makes the check engine light blink the cylinder number that is missing, don't drive the car this way or u will overheat the exhaust catalytic converter, this can cause a fire.
