Warning light in my dashboard is on. It's a 1997 Mercedes C180 (Gasoline fueled car). It looks like a battery with fluids in it. My friend thinks it's either battery or cooling fluids. I bought destilled water, since i thought it was the battery fluids. Though, the battery says "maintenance free". So I'm not sure that I should refill anything on the battery, or where I should do it.

Don't you have some warning lights on your dash? MB cars are fly-by-wire that tend to depend so much on battery electricity when shut off. Use a high amps battery or battery recommended matching your car model. Check on some instruments that can be a parasitic drain to your car like, car alarm, sticking relays on auxiliary fans, radios. Worse you have a short somewhere or a wiring harness issue, but it should be giving you a warning on the dash.

no.it will still start and run should have a warning light on and wont go in gear.....hope this helps

Verify the brake level fluid & fill up if necessary!

not a faulty rear sam more likely a poor bulb holder clean the area that the bulb sits in

If adding transmission fluid doesn't help, you need a new transmission.

Follow normal troubleshooting procedures.

Brake pad low warning light
Hand brake/ brake fluid low light
Engine oil low light
Engine coolant level low
(space for outside temp display, yours might not have this)
Wind screen washer fluid low
ABS warning light (your might not have this)
Exhaust temp warning light (only if the vehicle is fitted with CAT"s)

Hi,

The dashboard in the benz c180 is always good and highly illuminated.
I doubt that there may be some problem with the power to the lights present in the dashboard.

And i am sure there are no adjustment for illuminating the dashboard.
you need to call benz service centre for this problem.
