I have a 1999 Saturn SL2 manual transmission 4 door sedan. The problem I am having is with the drivers side rear passenger door. this car is no frills, no electric windows, no electric locks....the door is stuck shut, locking mechanism is either locked or jammed, trying to get the inside door panel off and have made some progress but hard to do alot when can't open the door so have the upper portion opened up by removing screws in the handle, one hidden screw under the trim on back edge of door close to seat etc, having trouble figuring out how to remove the window crank for more access from the top to work on opening the door up so it can be worked on properly, any ideas????

Hey Aimmy,
Yes, you can do this... get the special tools you will need from the O'Reilly or Autozone "loaner program".. Get one of these before you start!! 1991 2002 Saturn series Haynes Repair Manual
on a manual transmission the Clutch Slave Cylinder is located on the drivers side front of the transmission. You can locate it by first finding the clutch master cylinder on the drivers side of the firewall. Then fallow the plastic line to the front of the transmission.
To remove the slave you will first twist it then pull it out of the transmission.
The clutch slave and mater cylinder are replaced as an assembly.
You probably blew the differential pin and it punched a hole in the transmission. Get underneath and look for a fist sized hole in your transmission. If it is there time to replace the transmission. Can be done in a day with basic tools.
Are you replacing the cv axle yourself. If you are going with an aftermarket axle, that may be your problem. I would recommend going back to O.E. Also, some original saturn parts may be hard to find.
Your mirror is most likely black, just like all the other Saturns of
that year. Knowing that, now is it power or manual? Now you go to ebay
motors and search for a
passenger side mirror of the right color and control. There are lots
of
them listed and all will fit all Saturn SL models 91-95. There is a
little phillips screw holding in the cosmetic piece inside the front
door at the front of the window. Unscrew that and you will see three
larger nuts, take those off and the mirror will come off. Put your new
mirror on the reverse order.
One of your door lock inside switches are bad.Find the one that doesn't feel right when you push it in either lock or unlock. The internal spring is broke causing the lock relay to keep try to lock or unlock until it gets hot & protects.
