A warning notification has come on in my Audi 2005 A4 TDI S-line, whi8le driving. When I slow down it makes a ping noise, and displays "1km per hour". I selected "Check" and the computer then told me "Oil Pressure". There does not seem to be any leakage, and I had a full service a few months ago. Any ideas?

SOURCE: oil pressure warning light on my audi a4 2005

The car has entered into fail safe mode. It wil not allow the engine to rev high but allows you only to get to a mechanic or to get some oil into the engine. What's the level like? Is there any trace of leakeage?

SOURCE: OIL PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT SHOWN UP ON AUDI A4 1.8 T SPORT

Is a pressure converting element on the block. Can be leak or shot. Or wire harnes problem worst case. If leak you see dripping oil mostly. Had that 2 times on a car.

SOURCE: how do i change my fan belt on an audi a4 19 tdi

i just replaced 1 yesterday your best option is to remove the headlights, bumper, you will see 3 torx bolts both sides holding complete front section, remove air conditioning rad pull round to right hand side without losing pipes, the front section should pull round to the left a little prope with axle stand. draw out a digram of witch way the belt goes round all pulleys. to the left of the water pump (big fan wheel) is the tensioner, to slacken place 15mm spanner on bolt and pull anticlockwise.

Hi , Im looking for a handbook/ users manual for Audi A4 2005 2.0 tdi avant. Anyone know where I can download one? Thanks

You can look for Haynes Repair Manual for your car, they are mostly sold on any auto repair shops or auto zones, or order it online. I'm not sure if you can find any pdf format of it though. Hope this helps

Audi a4 2ltr tdi 140. engine has a chatter only when hot . removed aux belt but noise still there. sounds like a pulley chatter. vehicle drives and performs a1.

Just a guess.. could be bearings of (external) belt castors squeaking when hot (= dry). What is the mileage? May need to replace a pulley or so...

I had something like this once with the water pump of my 2,5 TDi and I replaced the pump preventively ($120 I think), problem was solved.

My 97 audi A4 pinging after driving for 10 to 15 minutes.

That 'ping' caused by pre-ignition can punch holes in the tops of pistons so should not be ignored.
There is a device called a 'knock sensor' that feeds information to the computer which, in turn, retards the spark very quickly to prevent it from happening.  Very poor gasoline can cause this but watching over the ignition noise allows a car to tolerate a broad range of octanes without suffering damage.
BTW, when ping occurs, this means that the spark has been supplied too early in the compression stroke and this causes the expanding gases to hammer the piston down before it can complete its stroke; this not only will damage the pistons but robs the engine of power, something you have already noticed.
