My 95 Mazda 626 LX randomly just shuts down when I am driving it at any speed. I pull over and put it in park and it usually starts right back up. Lately it doesn't start up right away after shutting down and sometimes makes a squealing noise when it does restart. I turns over with no problems but doesn't start right away.

That car was available with 2 different transmissions.1 is the CD4E.That trans,the filter is only accessable if rebuilding the trans.You literally have to tear down the trans to get to the filter,so just drain and refill that one on a service.The other trans it could have is the GF4AEL,and that one has two pans.The filter is located in the bottom pan.Good luck.

You probably disturbed the timing between the crankshaft and the camshaft if you loosened the timing belt.

A few things could be causing this problem:

1. Vibration when running is an indication that one or more spark plugs are fouled or missing
2. Cracked/worn distributor cap
3. On all models except the Millenia, the fuel filter is attached to a bracket located in the left rear of the engine compartment, next to or beneath the brake master cylinder fluid reservoir
