Hello, I made the rather foolish mistake of placing the battery in backwards in my 2002 tacoma( 2rzfe) I have checked all the fuses in both fuse boxes and the only ones blown were the 120 amp altenator fuse and the fuse for the dome lights. Not only would the truck not start but the radio and none of the accessories are operative. i replaced the fuse for the dome light but have not yet replaced the altenator fuse. Would the altenator fuse really prevent my truck from starting and my acessories from working with a brand new battery installed? Thank u soo much for ur help

Are you sure you didn't put the battery in backwards? I don't mean to suggest that you are not intelligent, but we all make mistakes like this from time to time. If it's not that, you may have blown some fuses. Check your manual for which fuses control the radio and passenger airbag and replace them if needed (with the car not running). . .
You probably blew a main fuse or circuit breaker. I believe your fuse box is on the driver side under the hood. Check your owners manual for fuse I.D. Then check the main fuses.
On most vehicle the fuse for the clock will be the same as the interior dome light. As for the radio should be a 10 amp fuse (red). Usually found on the interior fuse panel for both.
You need to pull the fuse box out, and loosen the fuse holder panel. This is harder than it sounds, trust me. The 100 amp fuse is bolted in, 10 millimeter bolt. Make sure that battery is DISCONNECTED when you do this.
