1999 Windstar drives fine for awhile then something starts to happen the abs light comes on the trak light comes on the lights won't go hi and low no backup lights the turn signal won't turn o

Just as a precaution, please check the brake fluid reservoir on that model. There is a sensor at the base of the master cylinder which can leak brake fluid over the wiring circuit, and cause the electrics to short out. In some extreme cases this has caused fires in some vehicles. This is why Ford had issued a recall to this particular model in the states at least.

I have a 1998 Ford Windstar. Got in to drive, turned the key to start and 'snap' something seems to have broke within the ignition lock cylinder... all of the accessories are on... the key...

This happened to to me with my ranger. I went and bought in ignition and a junk yard and no problems after that. That way your not out of a lot of money.

My 99 windstar headlights are dimming, the abs light has come on and at times will not start. van has a new battery?

Clean the battery terminals.

Check the alternator voltage.

Just start the van if you have to.

Check the voltage at the battery terminals.

It should read 13.8V to 14.2V.

If the pully tensioner is from 1999 then it's time to change it.

Check belt the cracks.

After the tensioner change and belt change then double the voltage.

It has to be 13.8V or high.

If not then change out the failing alternator,

2001 FORD WINDSTAR MINI-VAN HEADLIGHTS, DOME LIGHT,

The "door is locked" switch mechanism in the driver's door is not engaging when the door is closed. It is inside the door panel and right on the latch. It closes a circuot when the door is latched.

I was able to tighten the mounting on mine with some twist-wire and been right as rain for 3, 4 years now
