Sounds exactly like my 1999 SL2 which had "burning and arching" in the fuse box. Car one day be fine the next I'd take it to the store, come back in 10 minutes and wouldn't start, no radio, no power windows, no keyless entry remote, no rear defrost and even locking doors from inside power buttons it sounded odd. This fixed the problem by replacing the fuse box.

check your fuses, quite a big one considering it supplies all your locks

Locate the fuel pump relay and replace. shold be located in the fuse box that needed the Tap

What fuse did you check ? 10amp body fuse in the I/P fuse box . Check for B+ voltage ,with a volt meter , on both sides of the fuse . Black lead to ground an touch the little metal tab's on top of the fuse one at a time . Should see battery voltage with the door open . If there is no voltage check the 30 amp batt fuse in the I/P fuse box . For the power locks did you check 20amp locks fuse located in the I/P fuse box ?

Your controls may be going bad, also check the fuse for your door locks to see if it's still good. I really think your controls may be going bad because the first sign is work and then don't work....but check fuses first.

open the fuse box on the passenger side of the console. Check all the fuses. Also there is a fuse box under the hood I believe on the driver side. check all these fuses also. The only other thing to check if your motors are working fine, is the wiring.
