Temperature display reads 130 degrees when its clearly less outside. The car only blows warm air if you adjust the temperature to 84 degrees or higher. What can this issue be?

thats way too cold..minus 37 centigrade????I dont think its possible in nature..but cold is cold..the controls may be frozen..if you have a heated garage..put the car in it for a while and let it warm up..
dont know the full location but its on the front end around one of those ares are that you have had replaced, its only smale and has 2 wires connecting it, it clips into an area were there is good air flow.
I have a 2000 pontiac grand prix with a digital climate control system.
The heat quit working, it doesn't blow out any heat. Now that it is warm
outside the air stopped blowing out any air. The digital temperature on
the climate control is not correct. When it states that it is below 30
degrees on the ext and it is warm outside the air wont be cold. Once it
starts going above 30 degrees the air gets colder. Today the blower stop
working all together. Was told it maybe the climate control unit was
bad. You can hear the door opening/shutting when you switch the temp
from cold to hot. But there was no heat blowing out whatsoever in the
winter time. Could you please give me your opinion on whether or not it
is the climate control unit or something else?
Start the vehcle and let it warm up then set all the controls to heater? Then turn off the car. Use the remote start to start the vehicle and check the controls are still set to heat mode.
your thermostat could faulty.when it stuck open it won't let the engine heat up to the right operating temperature and will be blowing luke warm to cold air out of the vents.have it replaced that should solve your problem
The ambient air temperature sensor is bad or has a connection/wiring problem. It is not blowing cold air because it thinks the outside air is less then 35degrees. When the computer sees outside air less than 35 it disables AC so that ice will not form inside the vehicle and in HVAC system. The sensor is directly behind the front grill. You might be able to check it for connection/corrosion/frayed or damaged wires. If no evidence of this I would replace it.
