1997 nissan pick up stalles douring decelleration. i have replacet the egr gasket/the intake manifold gasket/ and both plentum gaskets. it was origionally not even staying at an idle and throwing a maf code now it actually stayes at idle and no code but when driven it stalls while approching red lights or stop signe, there is no vaccume leaks

Here's a link on your code. You have spent a ton of money and the dealer would of done it cheaper.I take my vehicles to dealers for oil changes, they scan and will tell me for free what is wrong since I went there for a oil and not a repair job. Then I can fix my self and not be charged for there labor.
1100.00 eleven hundred dollars this is a generous price which includes parts and labor, you will need intake and exhaust valves, intake mainifold, exhaust manifold, cylinder head gasket, valve cover gasket coolant ,motor oil and filter,EGR gasket,
Install a tachometer on the engine, following the manufacturer's instructions.
Detach the engine wiring harness connector from the Idle Air Control (IAC) solenoid.
Disconnect and plug the vacuum supply hose from the EGR valve.
Start the engine, then apply the parking brake, block the rear wheels and position the transmission in Neutral.
Observe and note the idle speed.
If the engine will not idle with the IAC solenoid disconnected, provide an air bypass to the engine by slightly opening the throttle plate or by creating an intake vacuum leak. Do not allow the idle speed to exceed typical idle rpm. Using a hand-held vacuum pump, slowly apply 5-10 in. Hg (17-34 kPa) of vacuum to the EGR valve nipple.
If the idle speed drops more than 100 rpm with the vacuum applied and returns to normal after the vacuum is removed, the EGR valve is OK.
If the idle speed does not drop more than 100 rpm with the vacuum applied and return to normal after the vacuum is removed, inspect the EGR valve for a blockage; clean it if a blockage is found. Replace the EGR valve if no blockage is found, or if cleaning the valve does not remedy the malfunction.
Fig.: ... remove the valve from the intake manifold
Fig.: Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the manifold and the EGR valve (if being reused)
Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove the vacuum hose from the EGR valve.
Using a 22mm wrench or crowfoot, disconnect the EGR valve-to-exhaust manifold tube from the EGR valve.
Remove the EGR valve mounting fasteners, then separate the valve from the intake manifold.
Remove and discard the old EGR valve gasket, and clean the gasket mating surfaces on the valve and the intake manifold.
To install:
Install the EGR valve, along with a new gasket, on the upper intake manifold, then install and tighten the mounting bolts to 15-22 ft. lbs. (20-30 Nm).
Connect the EGR valve-to-exhaust manifold tube to the valve, then tighten the tube nut to 26-47 ft. lbs. (35-65 Nm).
Connect the vacuum hose to the EGR valve.
Connect the negative battery cable.
3.0L OHC (4 valve)

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove the vacuum hose from the EGR valve.
Remove the two EGR tube-to-EGR valve retaining nuts.
Remove the EGR valve mounting fasteners, then separate the valve from the intake manifold.
Remove and discard the old EGR valve gasket, and clean the gasket mating surfaces on the valve and the intake manifold.
To install:
Install the EGR valve, along with a new gasket, on the upper intake manifold, then install and tighten the mounting bolts to 15-22 ft. lbs. (20-30 Nm).
Connect the EGR valve-to-EGR tube, then tighten the retaining nuts.
Have your intake check your intake manifold gaskets maybe spray some Carb cleaner around it while the engine is running if the idle goes up you have a leaky intake manifold gasket also clean your aic valve
If the manifold was replaced, install or connect the following:
Vacuum source manifold.
Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve.
Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor.
Throttle body assembly.
Upper-to-lower intake manifold carrier gasket to the upper intake manifold.
Carefully place the upper intake manifold onto the lower intake manifold. Ensure that the alignment pins in the upper intake manifold align with the holes in the lower intake manifold.
NOTE: Apply thread lock compound, to the bolt threads before assembly.
Install or connect the following:
Upper intake manifold. Tighten the upper intake manifold bolts in sequence to 89 in lbs (10 Nm)
Accelerator and the cruise control cables with the bracket to the throttle body.
EVAP purge solenoid vacuum line to the throttle body.
Connect the electrical connectors to the following:
Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor
Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor
Idle Air Control (IAC) valve
Throttle Position (T/P) sensor
EVAP purge solenoid
Install or connect the following:
Throttle body upper support bracket bolt. Tighten the bolt to 89 in lbs (10 Nm)
EGR valve wiring harness heat shield, nut and the bolt. Tighten the nut and the bolt to 89 in lbs (10 Nm)
Check vacuum leaks , by spraying carburator cleaner around intake manifold gasket and vacuum hoses connections . See if engine picks up the idle speed while you doing it , and if it does , locate leak and fix it. Most common , intake manifold gasket brakes.
Sounds like misfire.
On this cars common problem is - intake manifold gasket goes bad creating big vacuum leak , what makes fuel mixture very lean and causing misfire and even stalling engine.
Usually gasket goes bad toward rear of the engine.
How to check :
Buy carburator cleaner spray .
Turn engine on and spray cleaner in to intake manifold gasket area , from begining to the end of it.
If engine start choking or picks up the idle speed - it is your problem. Choking indicates big vacuum leak ,
idle increase indicates small vacuum leak.
Yes. i would perform the same test on a 1997 altima. those had the same problem with the intake manifold gasket leaking. the gasket will brake and you will have a leak.nissan didn't change the gasket. the same gasket is beeing used on 1997 and the 2001. do the carb cleaner test and let me know how it responds to some carb cleaner.
