The problem may be with the power lock of the driver side door. The actuators may be worn out since this is the most used door since the key and the central lock will not work. If the driver's door side is delayed or will not work, usually the rest of the doors would follow. It may just need re-installing because it got loose or went out of alignment due to vibrations.
My bad, I missed out that important information. The power door and the trunk work the same way. The actuator is a little different on the trunk. The actuator will be the one to 'release' the latch of the trunk simulating manually opening the handle. The actual opening of the trunk is done via hydraulics. Once the trunk is released, pressure from the strut forces the trunk open. This is the reason why you need to manually close the trunk since the pressure moves only on one direction. New and higher end cars has motors which closes the trunk.

Many thanks. You give me 2 suggestions:
1) Replace actuators.
2) Replace lock.
Please provide technical information on how to do the work.
I repeat that the problem is with the boot (truck) door. The driver door opens via key and 8 out of 10 times via central locking but the rear door never opens with either method.

Ryan.
Thanks for the information about how the system works but again, you have not given me a Fix as such .
I need to know where to find the trunk door lock actuator plus instructions on how to replace. Would need to replace the entire door lock mechanism or just actuator i.e.. Is the actuator within the door trunk door lock mechanism or seperate?
