Passat vw 1998 wont start.

clean throttle body,could be crankshaft sensor.

hi i have a passat 1999 1.8 petrol and i hav this fault 17925 and the car wont start i used the vag-com software....please help dont know wot to do

For 1998 VW Passat V6 the fuse box is located on the left side of dashboard behind a plastic cover (for left hand steering wheel vehicle). On inner face of the plastic cover you will find the fuse diagram.
The cigarette lighter fuse for 1998 VW Passat V6 is placed in the fuse box / relay plate fascia 1, (driver's door open). See pictures below:

Fuse no.# 33 - F33 (15 Amp.) = Cigarette lighter

Yep! you got it. Battery is shot. either that or the connections are. I would place my bets on the battery being bad. ;)

Around £250 but go to a vw dealer and let them rip you off of £350 or use a competent garage.

99 vw passat 1.9tdi was driving sound but just died just turns but wont fire up

Either your battery has just given up the ghost,........ Is it the original, and now 10 yrs old ?
Or your Alternator is not charging enough, to replenish what is used.

Have battery tested first, if OK, then the alternator belt tension, and alternator for correct output charging rate.

If all these shows no faults, your starter is then suspect.
