I have a 1990 pontiac firebird formula 350, and we own a mechanic shop and are restoring it. The problem is that the left head light wont go up or down, but we have tested the motor, by hooking up a battery to the headlight motor so we know that it isnt tghe motor, and there is no current running to the motor, so we think that it could be a bad fuse... so which fuse would corespond to the left headlight???

I just looked at a wiring diagram for the year and make of your car and it shows a circuit breaker for the right and left side headlamp motors. This is probably be located inside you fuse panel. It will say HDLP #1 & #2. Ihop that this helps, if you need the wiring diagram I can email it to you.

Go to this website, this could be your problem. I used the 5/16" rubber hose 1 " long and my headlight retract just fine now. http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/headlight...

Adjust timing 1989 Pontiac Firebird Formula 350

To get at some of the bolts to loosen you need a special wrench that looks like a large square c. this consist of the handle end and the box end that goes on the bolt. First take a flashlight and look at the bottom of the distributor, the thing with the 8 spark plug wires and cap on it. You shouls see a small bolt with either a 1/2 inch head or 13 or 14 millimeter head. rare is it smaller then these 3 suggestions.carefully loosen the bolt a little so you can move the dist by turning it. Do this without the engine running. If you have a timing light you need to clip on your #1 spark plug wire. I not the old fashion way is to start the car and rev up the engine to about 1500 rpm or 1800 and the rotate the dist left and right until you gets the engine where it runs its best and then back it off a hair, have someone with you and have them remove their foot off the gas and then shut the car off. re tighten the bolt carefully and then restart and see hoe she runs. This method works very well, in most cases you should be within 5 degrees of correct timing. On some models with extra vacuum lines it may be off a little more...Until you can have someone else check it this can work in most cases..

I have a 1990 firebird formula and there is serial numbers ingraved all over it and even on the t bars and on the glass what dose that mean

This is an anit theft method, most cars that are stolen are stripped for the parts. This method made the car more or less worthless to car thieves because they could not sell or use any of the valuable parts.

1990 pontiac firebird

there is no adjustment there is however a manuel override.

open up the hood - look to the left/right of the headlamp assembly you are working on there is a black knob that if you turn will crank up one way and down the other.

If you want to fix it you need to replace the actuator.
