Hello when your spark quits fuel is automatically shut of to avoid fuel filling up the cadillac converter to avoid fire or worst change coil if you have no spark be sure to disconnect battery while doing so but be sure to check for spark with a SPARK TESTER TOOL $20.00 at local part stores good luck

well i put a ignition coil on it but still no spark so this all started when i was driving down the road
and i notice is was hard to steer so a pull over and tried to start it then i pull it home but like a said with the key on the fuel pump won't work ok then i pull one of the plug wires off put other plug a new plug and had no spark and there is power to the fuses that's right next to the battery
for fuel rely so wonder if its the control module or the ignition switch

My ford ranger hadn't been started for about six months I put jump leads on and it started straight up after about 30 minutes ticking over it cut out and now wont start just turns over not firing

Several things could cause crank but no start. In my experience the most likely causes would be:
1) Clogged fuel filter
2) Bad fuel pump relay
3) Bad fuel pump.
4) Bad control module
Replace fuel filter first since it needs to be replaced every so often anyways. If still won't start
You can swap fuel pump relay with another same relay in fuse box. Easy way to rule out the relay.
Test fuel pressure. If low or no pressure
Test control module. If good,
Replace fuel pump.
I had same issue with my 2005 Ranger 4.0 several months ago and replacing fuel pump fixed it. Runs great now.

1993 ford ranger.4.0 what will cause the fuel to bleed back when switch is off?after about 10 min. i have to give it a shot of gas in throttle body to start it.just replaced fuel pump, filter & pressure...

do you have injector pulse durng initial cranking? you may have a bad cam shaft position sensor that "comes to life" when rpms are up. or an injector has a bad spray nozzle allowing fuel to flow into its cylinder, pulling the spark plugs and checking for any that may be "wet" or smell ''rich'' will help pin-point your problem.

Why isnt my1993 ford ranger no spark no fuel

Is there fuel in the tank? Is the fuel pump working? Is the fuel pump fuse blown? No spark: check coil and connections to the coil (pull coil wire, hold it near or against the block/ground while someone else cranks the engine to see if you have spark from coil. Check/replace distributor cap/rotor/stator, check ALL fuses.

Before you threw a bunch of parts at it maybe you should at least see if it has spark. If it doesn't have spark then the crank sensor and coil pack would be appropriate. If it is not getting fuel then the fuel pump, filter, etc. would be the way to go. So see if there is spark, do this by pulling a spark plug and see if there is spark out the end with it plugged into the wire and cranking it over. If there is spark put all this back together and squirt some fuel into the throttle body while cranking it over, if it tries to start but doesn't try to start on its own without squirting fuel in it then the fuel pump is bad. How many miles on it? Possibly the cam timing is off. Maybe take a compression check and see if the cam is out of time.

I've tested my coil by simply placing a spark plug at the end of the plug wire and ground it to the engines ground and by turning the key I looked for a bright blue spark to see a amber spark instead

well if it starts with starter fluid then you need to change the fuel pump and fuel filter, if it had anything to do with spark it would not start with starter fluid.
