That year model should have Chevys Vortec engine as it's power plant. If so, the fuel pressure regulator is integrated into the fuel injector assembly inside the plastic plenum (upper intake).

Changing throttle body to carb. on 1990 Chevy Silverado. Is the pressure OK or do they make a pressure regulator to go on the feul rail?

Fuel pressure will have to reduced with a fuel pressure regulator but don't forget ignition timing advance and transmission shift points (if automatic) will be affected if you don't retain the TPS.

Have troble starting engine after letting seat for a while with unit hot have change fuel regulator next to intake and change out body trodel position sensor

You need to check fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge. The regulator is a good guess but the fuel pump can also be letting fuel pressure drop. Once fuel pressure drops on a hot engine the fuel in the fuel rail will boil and essentially be a vapor lock condition. Fuel pressure should be around 56 psi and hold steady for at least 45 minute to an hour. If it drops within a couple of minutes to check valve in the pump is probably bad and the fuel pump module will need to be replaced.

The other thing, when you replaced the fuel pressure regulotar is is possible that you did not get all the old pieces from the old regulator out of the fuel rail. It is common for the screen and o-ring from the old regulator to stay in the fuel rail and they need to be removed carefully with a small pick.

Code o300 checked about everything you can possiblly do and lite still comes on, any idea's 1999 chevy silverado four wheel drive, 5.3 motor auto trans.

Code p0300 is for mutiple missfires. Have you checked fuel pressure, fuel pressure regulator, plugs, wires, fuel filter... Those would be the main cause of Mutiple missfires.

I just bought a 1999 Chevy Silverado last November. I recently changed the fuel pump, because I thought I didn't have enough pressure. When I start the engine, it runs for a few seconds and it shuts off....

It sounds like its possibly a bad fuel pressure regulator. Most parts stores will rent you a code reader, scan the computer for trouble codes. Come back here with any codes retrieved from the computer and we will help you figure this out. This could be a cheap fix, so I don't recommend randomly replacing things, that will get very expensive.

I need to know how to install a fuel pressure regulator on a 98 GMC K3500 4x4

The fuel pressure regulator is located under the upper intake manifold or plenum. This large aluminum casting must be removed for access.I assume this is a 454 c.i.d.old body style pick up. 2000 was a split year for GM. Both old and new body styles.
