Ther isd a fuel pump fuseand fuel pump relay. also and I am not sure where it is located, but all vehicles with electric fuel pumps have a switch that is suposed to cut off the fuel pump if the vehicle get into an accident. this switch on many cars is located on the pasanger side inside car in the kick panel or around the heater box. not sure of location on the astro van. these switches sometimes pop off for no reason or hitting some rough roads etc. Gm also has several service bulitens out for defective harnesses and the problem might be the connector to the fuel pump. some ideas. good luck

If the fuel pump keeps going out, are you using new fuel pumps? Is it a quality fuel pump? Your changing the sock filter and inline filter. The bottom of gas tank is clean. no trash in tank?
My next thought is to do voltage drop test for voltage and ground, at the fuel pump.

Check your TPS Sensor. My 1995 Chevy Astro Van did the same thing and I thought it was the fuel pump but I was wrong.

How do i revtieve the trouble codes for a 2002 chevy astro van
loosen fuel lines at throttle body when turning key to on possion , careful not to spill gas all over engine, do you hear fuel pump running and try to put at least 4-5 gallions of fuel, you could try a (LITTLE ) shot of starting fluid ?good luck hope this helps.

Chevy astro van turns over but wont start when
Check to see if the fuel pump is kicking in,
when you turn the key on without starting the van you should hear it kick on for about 2 seconds,

It could be...
A clogged fuel filter...
Blown fuse for the pump..or bad pump relay..
No gas
Bad fuel pump

1995 chevy astro van
Mine just did same (2001). Have them check the power steering pump--shaft broke in mine. This affects the brakes as well since both power brakes and power steering run off same system in Astros. Broken shaft messed up the booster system.
