Adjust your idle up. had the same problem with my 84 when I had the 305 in it. Turned up the idle just a hair and car ran great! there is a screw on the throttle linkage going to the carb located on the driver side of the carb.

Try tightening the bolts that hold the carb to the engine; very common vacuum leak location.

It sounds like you have mosture (water) in the fuel system. Go to your auto supply and get a can or two of water remover to put in the fuel tank. If you are in a wet climate and your fuel level in the tank was low when you parked it that is most likely your problem.

Truck will idle about 15 seconds and dies or bogs down

You need to take a pressure and volume measurement, most fuel pressures for a carburetor engine are 3 to 7 psi, then you need to make sure the volume is consistent for a period of time, 20 to 30 second of engine cranking while the fuel is transferred to a container of some sort, make sure the ignition system is disabled to prevent you from blowing up the property.

exactly right, theres trash in the tank. keep changing or cleaning the filter and get the gas out of it. replace with good gas and pick up something at the auto to dry up the water in tank. auto guy should be able to help pick something. hope it helps
