Welcome to the world of diesels....

Black smoke is produced when too much fuel is injected into the cyl. There could be several issues here, but I would start with running a diagnostic on your O2 sensors and MAS/MAP sensors.

I hope this helps

I have a 2005 Kia Sorento under excelliration it blow a lot of black smoke could it be the intercooler leaking as i check the oil regularly and it never uses any,

black smoke is over fuel and in a diesel with a turbo that indicates that
1 the turbo variable vanes are not adjusting to low rpm
2- the turbo turbine wheel is not spinning up
3-the intercooler or hoses are leaking boost air
4-- bad injectors -- squirting and not atomizing

My 1992 nissan terrano blows to much black smoke .how to fix this .some say i have unbirt fuel?

if diesel and turbo , check turbo operation of for holes in the intercooler
if turbo or naturally aspirated check/ replace injector tips as black smoke indicators squirting and not atomizing
if petrol check for excessive fuel pressure, faulty injectors , leaking injector seal
regardless of petrol or diesel --black smoke indicates incorrect air / fuel ratio ( too much fuel) so injectors, intercooler, bad turbo or blocked air cleaner are all candidates for the fault

1992 Peterbilt 379 feels sluggish pulling load up hill and is blowing black smoke

have a turbo boost pressure test done under load on a chassis dyno
under load the boost should be right up
check for leaks in the intercooler hose fittings or cracks in the intercooler
black smoke under load indicates a faulty turbo or turbo air leaks.

Where is the fuel regulator kia sedona

check the turbo for failure and check the intercooler for cracks and leaks . check the hose clamps . have the tips of the injectors cleaned / replaced and if you want to blow the engine continue to use easy start. Diesels are compression ignition engines and that means the air is white hot at the point of injection of the diesel and any fuel substance introduced will spontaneous ignite and bend con-rods and crack pistons.

Blows black smoke when running 2600 rpm and boost goes down

I assume its the 6.0L diesel...If so sigh......double sigh.. I had one of these...triple sigh. I need a bit more clarification. How many km on the engine/vehicle. Also, you say that it blows black smoke while running at a constant speed at 2600 rpm, or while you are accelerating to 2600 rpm. Also, when you say the boost goes down, does it decrease by itself, or when the throttle is let off. The boost naturally goes down when the throttle is released (not trying to be a ****, i dont know how much you know). However, if the boost is going down by itself, while the engine is under load (its not supposed to, it should stay constant) it could be a couple of things, which "can" contribute to black smoke. If there is a leak anywhere from the turbo to the intake of the engine, it will cause the engine to get less boost, which means less air into the cylinders, which means black smoke. Check all of the connectors/tubing coming from the turbo to the intercooler, and from the intercooler to the intake manifold and see if there are any problems. The more costly problems which results in boost going down, and black smoke, deals with a problem with the wastegate on the turbo (controls how much boost is produced, and when too much is being made, it will bleed off excess pressure). So if your wastegate is malfunctioning, your boost will go down and you will get black smoke cause the engine is not getting enough air. also, around 160km...80mi, the injectors "can" start to go on the 6.0L diesels....I would check the turbo for leaks, the tubing for leaks, and the intercooler for leaks (a big rock can punch a hole in radiators and intercoolers...intercooler will be in front of the radiator). I hope this helps
