1999 Cadillac Deville..cold air is only coming out of 2 vents (passenger side) and hot air is blowing out of other 2 and the back one also. This happened 2 years ago and my mechanic was able to fix it but this time he says it has something to do with the "vents not opening automatically" and said to take it to a dealer....whenever I walk into to a dealer it cost $500. looking for some help

The bad news is that it is most likely a faulty actuator and this will be difficult to replace as they have to partially dismantle the dash to get at it. Go to a couple of dealers and get them to give you a quote for the work. They may not be able to give you an exact quote as they wont know exactly what the problem is until it is dismantled, so ask for an estimate. Jobs like this usually wont be expensive for parts, but there is a lot of labour involved..

SOURCE: 1999 cadillac Deville cold air blowing out passenger side vents

Sounds like a Blend door issue, but could be the controller switch, Test ALL modes of operation to see what works and what does not. That should narrow it down a bit. The Blend doors are flap/ doors that regulate air flow, newer vehicles are plastic - electric assemblies ...prone to failure. Any clicking or thumping noises during switching modes and on-off suggest a bad Blend door. Hope that helps...good luck

SOURCE: MAP sensor 1994 Cadillac Deville

The map sensor shouldn't cost more than 50 bucks or so. It is very easy to change, and can be done w/ simple tools. It mounts to the intake manifold. There is a wire connector that plugs into it. Just remove the two mounting bolts, and the connector, and it will pop right off. This is not a tough repair, so it can be done in about 10 minutes at most. This should save a trip to the repair shop!

SOURCE: I have a coolant leak on my 1994 Cadillac Deville.

Yes this models tend to do that, check the coolant mixture after repair, yes is a diy proyect but you at least will have basic mechanic abilities to perform this, make sure you mark all the hoses and cables when dismantling.

SOURCE: 1997 cadillac deville a/c problems

Could be a vacuum line but have had this problem myself. The problem is most likely the "blend" air door behind the dash. This door operates via vacuum to slightly open or close allowing heated air from the heater core to mix with a/c air in the case of the passenger operating the individula comfort control button on the passenger arm rest. When the passenger wants their side a little warmer than the driver the door opens and warm air mixes in. The fix is not good. Several thousand dollars for dealer fix. The dash must be removed(and probably drivers door). My fix was to put a shut off valve on the heater hose going into the heater core so that I can shut off coolant to the core in summer temperatures. In winter I turn it back on for heater operation. Hope it helps.

I have a 1999 Cadillac Deville Concorse. The climate controls are all on the dash below the radio. The drivers side works perfectly (both hot and cold), but the passenger side works intermittently. If I...

Could be that the hvac control module has an intermittent problem or the air mix door control for the passenger side is sticking. Check for error codes (DTCs) using a code scanner, but may not show an intermittent mechanical issue. If you can get at the air mix control on the hvac box under the dash on the passenger side, you may be able to check its operation.

The blend door for the passenger side is not connected right or functioning correctly. Try seeing if the dial on the armrest on the passenger side is not rotated one way or the other too much.

1999 cadillac deville d'elegance heater problem

i've been down here too myself, and discovered that the temp control motor, located in the bottom of the glove box, which you can access by clearing all your stuff in in and opening a small door.
you can adjust it manually, and see if it changes, if yes, the switch can be defective, as well as the motor, the switch is the most likely problem.
but adjust it manually first.

Air and heat not blowing air through vents

Either Your fan switch is burned out or you blower motor is no good, your blower motor is on the passenger side under the dash. Before you replace any parts you need to check your fuses and relays under your hood and in the car. Usually if your fan switch goes bad you will still get some air blowing thru the vents, so my guess would be blower motor, If its not a blown fuse or relay.

Passenger side a/c blowing hot air, driver side is cold.

There's a rod assembly that opens and closes the vents in the car for the automatic climate control. It's supposed to open all vents to the AC feed when in AC mode. BUT, if it slips loose, the default status is to feed heat through (you can open a window in the summer, but you don't want AC blowing in your face and on your windshield in the winter). In my case, the driver's side was working right, pumping cold air, but the passenger side was actually dumping hot air into the car. Friend who fixed it for me told me he just had to drop the glove box etc. on the passenger side to get to the rod and slipped it back into place. I'm not agile enough, but if you are, you can probably crawl around under there and figure it out - or get a friendly mechanically inclined young friend to do it for you. Probably in the mechanic's manual for the Caddy (I don't have one).

Think this will fix it for you - did for me.
