Thank you ki2010. I believe I am heading towards the same problem. The remote for my 2005 Subaru is not working and the key lock is not opening easily. I will try your lubrication solution before I find myself locked out soon.

If you cannot open it from inside, take the door panel off and try to unlock it manually (if not power locks) If you do have power locks, pop the hood, and disconnect the positive terminal on the batter (make sure you have any codes needed (if required) for stock stereo system; your owners manual will explain this, as these codes (or code) is needed to enable the stereo). This is an anti-theft option for newer vehicles, but are not necessarily equipped. If you manual does not specify if your vehicle has this, check with the dealership of purchase.
If not, or if you obtain the codes, go ahead and disconnect the positive terminal. I once locked my keys in my 1990 Ford F250, with power locks - luckily, my hood was up as I was doing some minor repairs, and decide to give this a try. Once I disconnected the positive it popped all the locks (two door).
If this does not work, I suggest inquiring with the dealership, or google it.
Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Driver side door jammed shut

Not to my knowledge. The mechanism you talk about is the wiring inside the door if it has electric locks. The only way is to remove the top of the door panel to access the door latch mechanism then slide it away from the latch. If that don't work let me know

1992 Subaru Liberty wagon - cannot lock front passenger door.

Check the alignment with the door pin. Might be out of adjustment and will not let the door close all the way. That will cause the lock to not be operable. Good luck and have a great day.

The driver's door and trunk locks on my 2002 Subaru Legacy are jamming, to the point where I can not open my trunk. The driver's door is on its way to meet the same fate! Any easy fix for this?

the drivers door lock is the main one in the system and its normally the problem when it goes wrong others are effected, you can remove it lubricate the mechanism and try agin or a replacement is needed,

2005 dodge durango rear hatch is down and will not open

I own a 04 durango and the door lock actuator froze up internally and I could not open the rear hatch. After hours of research on my computer nothing seemed to fix the problem. I eventually figured it out myself. You must pull the screws out of the molding on the inside of the rear door. You can now pull the molding toward you and look down at the actuator and latch. You can pull on the molding quite a bit if necessary. I never broke mine and I was pretty agressive with it. Now, on top of the whole mechanism is the lock actuator. There should be a white plastic lever sticking out towards the driver side. If you can slide it from back to forward "forward is front of vehicle", the lock should be working. If not your door is not unlocking. My durango had 3 Torx screws on top of the actuator. Remove them. This will take the actuator off of the latch. Now that the actuator is not binding or holding the lock from moving, again try to move the white plastic lever towards front of vehicle. It should click and you should be able to open the door.

If it's mega cold in your area, it could be ice. We've had several things not open lately. All due to moisture/condensation freezing.

Driver's side door power locks are stuck; door stuck shut.

sounds like the rods are disconnected the clips hold the rods in place the latching mechanism holds the handle in place as well did you replace the speakers or did a shop? if a shop did then they caused this if you did then you may have caused this either way untill you reattach the rods none of it will work. you will have to manually open the door at the latch from inside teh door behind the panel.
