I really need to unlock the anti theft on my bmw i need music! and i just bought the car which had been sitting forever before i bought it so it needed a jump to start up and it reset the radio code!i had this prob w a previous vehicle i had and they gave me the code at the dealership FOR FREE by simply giving bmw my car vin#.BUT BMW WANTS 25 DOLLARS FOR ALL THAT ILL GET A CD PLAYER RADIO INSTEAD OF THE 18YR OLD FACTORY CASSETE PLAYER...SMH! When you disconnect the battery, it causes the anti-theft system pairing to break. On reconnecting the battery, the key and transponder chip need re-pairing. There are some ideas in the link, but with a BMW your best bet is to call a mobile auto-electrician or an auto locksmith. They both have pro grade scan tool computers that can reset the anti-theft system and diagnose any other electrical issues.

You need to pull radio or have BMW pull radio and get serial # off radio, then BMW will run serial # to get security code for you.

For 1995 and older models.
Simply lock the door with the key from outside of the car,then unlock it. Then start the car. I think this lets the computer know that someone who has the correct key is attempting to start it.

to turn off the theft system, all you have to do is put the key in the door lock and lock and unlock the door, this shuts down the anti theft system,now this has nothing to do with the radio, the only way the radio would ask for the code is if it was removed or the battery unhooked,anyway try the unlocking of the door even try the passenger door, hope this helps.

you may find tha the locks need a good oil, and the pasenger sid as it dont get used , they may of both gon stiff and the micr switch tha sits next to the lock barrow is thinking its still locked .. my bmw used to lock me in wen a slamed the door
