I have bmw 316i 1994 coupe. I am facing a problem of my speedometer and all gauges like feul and heat even rpm sometimes working perfect and sometime dead. Sometimes even bouncing all the meters and gauges. Can you guide me?

run fault codes and look for TCM fault as these items are controlled by it.

Where would i find the starter motor on bmw 316i 1994 -1998 please

For BMW 316i 1994 - 1998 you will find the starter motor on the right part of the car at the bottom back right side of the engine, between clutch case (or automatic gearbox case) and cylinder block.

most likely the sender in the gas tank is bad.

The dashboard gauges dont work

check the ground on the computer the wires sometimes come loose and cause this

this is just a rough guess, but i think it would be the battery or the alternator. Some part store have testers that they will check both for free.

Speedometer works sporadically

It sounds as if liquid got into the instrument cluster and the speedometer gauge might have some rust on the spring. Check to see if any other gauge is sticking sometimes.

Gauge cluster problems are one of the toughest nuts to crack on an e36 BMW.
