Not really a problem - I bought the 2000 Altima with 145,000 miles. Running great. But, are there any maintenance logs with the various servicing schedules/components/time intervals available for that high end of mileage? I can create my own, but if it's already out there......Thanks.

You create your own with all your vehicles

Treat them all the same & keep a log book

You should be doing a lot more than anything
out there especially MFG Scheduled Maint
Follow that alone you will break down

Try carfacts.com for your vehicle. You'll need the VIN number.

Hi there,

Generally, the service schedule just repeats itself beyond Nissan's Warranty mileage (as per the original service booklet).

But, you're in luck...

You can download your very own User Manual here (which has a section on Maintenance Schedules):

Cheers,

Scott

2001 Dodge Stratus R/T 3.0L V6. Motor ticks on top end while running. Every couple minutes the ticking goes away and then comes back. Timing belt is original, vehicle has 145,000 miles

A ticking noise at the top of the engine suggest either sticking/worn valve lifters or wear on camshaft lobes.

An oil change won't cure any mechanical wear, but it certainly won't do any harm either..

You can also try adding an additive to the oil. There are additives for 'quietening valve train noise'. The alternative is to remove the camshaft and lifters for inspection/replacement as necessary.

With 145, 000 miles on the clock your engine has done well - but no engine doesn't wear or suffer from the occasional fault. Maintenance such as frequent oil changes negates many problems, but wear and faults do develop.

You have the original rubberised camshaft/timing belt on a 2001 car with 145,000 on the clock? You're living on borrowed time. If that belt snaps your car is history. Scrap value. Change it...

I bought an used Dodge Caravan 2000. It has 93000 miles. What maintenance should I do?

Hi, if the prior owners kept to the maintenance schedule then at 90K your Caravan should of had its major things done, mainly the spark plugs and tune up items. At 97K Dodge just wants normal things inspected fluids belts ect. oil change and rotate tires. At 100K they want the cooling system flushed. If the previous owner did not supply you with the maintenance history I would recommend having it inspected to see if the spark plugs were done and if not do them and the cooling system serviced. This will give your mechanic a sound starting place to keep you running fine. Hope this helps and happy motoring

I would get the belt from Mitsubishi because their belt seems to last in your situation.
