Hello. I'm having problems with my 2007 Yukon the radio won't turn on and the battery's voltage drains to the point that i need to jump start it.I've had the battery and alternator checked and they check out fine , we have also checked the fuses and they are fine also after i've jump started the Yukon and weve driven it around it gets to the point where i will have to jump start it again and again if i try to turn it on again. I had the battery replaced three years ago at a G.M.C. dealership. thank you.

SOURCE: my dealership wants $180 to replace my yukon xl

If you are planning on keeping your Yukon for several more years, I would recommend the Duralast Gold battery from your local Auto Zone. The Duralast Gold has an 8 year warranty, 700 CCA at a cost of $149 and no charge for installation or disposal of your old battery.
If you don't plan on keeping the vehicle, they do offer less expensive variations of the Duralast brand. The Duralast Professional is $129 and has a 7 year warranty.
Sears has a Diehard battery for $115 plus a number of fee's for disposal of old battery and installation but only has a CCA capacity of 525.
For your vehicle I would recommend the Duralast Gold, I have had mine for over 4 winters and no problems.
Good luck,
Regards,

SOURCE: My 2005 Yukon denali won't

My guess would be the anti theft security system. When this system starts to fail, it turns off the starter from the ignition. The fact that you can hard start it proves this. SOURCE: 2001 Yukon SLT, engine

Hi there !

I won't say its an alternator problem because the alternator only charges the battery when its on, And it should start with the jump cables even if the battery and the alternator are bad. your Issue is not clear. Does the car start when you jump it ?

SOURCE: Have a 2000 GMC Yukon Denali. Won't fire.

Make sure that the belt isn't extremely tight and they the belt tensioner isn't liked up by pulling in the belt. It should move and spring right back. Make sure engine isn't locked up. And please explain what happen with the vehicle. The fact that you replace plugs and wires and fuel filter for a car that's not turning is throwing me off. So right now we are going all over the place. But definite look at belt and tensioner I've seen a few times that a bad tensioner will make the belt wrap around tighter inhibiting the engine from turning.

As odd as this sounds, I would take it to "Car Toys" and have them take a look at the stereo wiring.

I put a new battery in my hyundai sonata and now the lights inside the car wont even come on. it won't do anything. If you jump it it will start but thats it it won't start back up after you turn...

Did this occur straight after changing out the battery, or after sitting with the new battery installed?

Have you checked the new batteries voltage and voltage under load, eg. (Voltage when headlights are on) could be a flat new battery.

Or could be load on the battery after key is turned off, something draining the battery overnight like a boot or interior light, radio left on ect.

Unlikely a short, or you would be in a world of burnt wires from the battery cables.

My radio stays on when I shut off the car and it's draining my battery. Now the battery is total drained and won't charge with a jump.

Has it been recently fitted? Most stereos require a permanent 12 volt supply and a secondary one connected to the ignition. Perhaps these have been mixed around causing the stereo to remain on?

Accidentally drained battery, jump started, works fine now, battery tested fine, but radio won't come back on?

When the battery was down or removed the radio was reset and since this is done for secuirty the codes must be entered on the panel for the radio to be active. Please check the manuals for the codes or call your dealerships.

2007 chevy cobalt ls won't start battery good starter good turn key nothing no click nothing all lites work on dash and radio works jumped starter with screwdriver turns. Over but won't start...

Ignition relay or fuse could be the problem. When you turn the key to start do you hear a fuel pump kicking on and or do you have spark when you hot wire the starter (I know it's hard to check while trying to start it)? You can email me back and I might be able to pinpoint it more.
