First a word of caution. The Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR but commonly referred to as 'air bags' is not to be taken lightly. Go to the library and check out the Service Manual for your vehicle. Failure to follow the cautions in the Service Manual could result in possible air bag deployment, personal injury, or otherwise unneeded SIR system repairs.
Now as to the location, it is under the dashboard on the passenger side. You'll see all kinds of warning stickers on the leads that will let you know immediately that you're in the proper area.

The module is located under the front console. You need a airbag scanner like a tech2 to get the codes from the module so you can determine what the problem is.
