55 Completion of diagnostic code display

It just says that it completed the diagnostic check (get one everytime you start your vehicle)

  • Anonymous Jun 03, 2011

So this means that the ECU is clear of any codes?

  • Anonymous Jun 03, 2011

Yes, it means that your vehicle diagnostics says the vehicle has no problems.

OBD 2 LOCATION 1995 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE

No obd 2 since it's a pre 1996 vehicle, so its obd 1. Start turning that key on-off-on-off-on, to get ck engine light to flash out codes.

How much to fix the ECU computer on 1995 Jeep Wrangler?

No software upgrade will fix that bad ecu. There are electronic components inside the ecu that need to be replaced. Services for repair or replacement of your ecu are available on ebay.

94 wrangler dies in gear

You don't need a scanner. If you cycle the key off and on 5 times, the codes will start flashing. Here is a link to jeeps and their trouble codes. There aren't that many in the older OBD-1 systems.

If you have no trouble codes, check fuel pressure. Multiport injection is high pressure, above 40psi, but Jeep would have specs.

1995 jeep wrangler when cranking sometimes check eng. lite doesnt come on when this happens i have no spark.cranks good but no spark. when the check eng lite does come on when cranking then the jeep would...

Your ecu is in need of repair. Your jeep has what is known as the "delayed check engine light problem". Time has taken it's toll on some of your ecu's internal components, the ones that supply power the fuel and ignition circuit relays. The ecu is slow to supply power to the circuits in the morning, causing the delay. Your jeep may also have a bad crank sensor, which would cause the sudden shutdown while driving. Your ecu can be repaired or replaced, your choice. Both options are available on ebay.

1995 Jeep Wrangler SE 4.0L... It is running rich. I accidentally turned the distrobutor during recent repairs and cannot get the timing back to normal! Everyone i ask says that there is no timing procedure...

there is a static timing setting from which the ECM advances or retards the spark according to sensor reports and rpms
using a timing light connected to no 1 cylinder set the mark on the pulley to 10 degrees btdc and that will allow the timing to work properly
if there is no scale on the timing cover and a small slot th the pulley flange
do this
remove no 1 plug and get no 1 piston coming up on compression
using a piece of copper wire in the plug hole determine when the piston is at TDC by seeing the wire moves up or down as you move the crank either way
place a white paint line at a convenient place on the cover and on the pulley edge
now move the pulley back ( anticlockwise ) about 3/4 of an inch and put a second mark on the timing cover
That second mark will be close to 10 degrees and will be within the parameters for the ECM to adjust the timing when running
using the timing light again turn the body of the distributor until the pulley mark lines up with the second mark you made and clamp it up at that point

1995 JEEP WRANGLER 2.5L HARD START COLD 1 START OF THE DAY

When you're trying to start it for the first time of the day, look at the dash to see if the check engine light is on when you first turn on the ignition. If the check engine light is not lit up, your Jeep ecu is in need of repair and the vehicle will not start until that check engine light finally comes on.

1995 Jeep Wrangler 2.5L Fuel Pump/Check engine light

Could be one of several items...I'd check the fuel pump relay, auto shutdown relay and the ignition switch itself. I'd bet on it being one of those relays but, we all have been fooled at least once!!! I'd also make sure that body and engine grounding is good and clean. Relays can't work properly without a good ground.

My 94 jeep wrangler has a 99 engine in it as I take off in all gears it hesitates and back fires. We checked the injecters and changed the plugs and wires and distributer on it. It is still doing the same...

99 Engine is OBD-II.

It must match with the same production line ECU.

You may luck out by getting the chip set for the ECU.

Did you purchase the 99 engine,ECU and the wiring set OFF THE SAME Jeep.

The key is to have a matching ECU firmware to drive the injectors and read ALL sensor.

Go to pick and pull and check out few ECU stock numbers and compare to your

==
There is a "S" for stating it's an auto or stick.

The CPS crank position is differnrt between the two.

This can be your major miss-match.

1999 wrangler jeep not always starting

The reason you can't pull codes is that you have the "later" OBD system which can only be accessed with a scan tool.
