Hi, there a couple of things that can cause this rattling type noise on acceleration the most common was the serpentine drive belt tensioner there was a service bulletin to address this. That bulletin number is EG021-07. The other problem is with the heat shields on the exhaust have a tendency to rattle also. I would have your local mechanic inspect both of these issues have them pull the service bulletin to verify whether not yours has been replaced or is making noise.

SOURCE: Pontiac G6 gas pedal rattle

Is this almost like a metallic buzzing sound?

Find the catalytic converter under the car it should have a shield on it. Use a broomstick with the car running and hold the shield still and have someone give it a little gas. Just move from shield to shield until you find the offending shield.

Don't touch these with your hand as they can get hot fast.

Most parts houses sell a very large hose clamp to go around these shield for about $10, they will know exactly what you are looking for.

SOURCE: Clutch rattle

this sounds like an adjustment issue. you did not mention the mileage...The clutch is released by a bearing, this release bearing needs to come back off of the fingers of the clutch pressure place, early wear and noise happens.

Near the end of the clutch life, you may find that you cannot release any more, if your model is adjustable.

Start with proper clutch release adjustment.

SOURCE: 1999 Honda CR-V rattles during acceleration

Hey. Same thing happened to me. There are rocks or debri stuck in your catylitic converter. Go under your crv and knock on it. You wil hear the rattle. Usually you can just pry it out from the openings.

Hi there,

The sound you hear, is it a whining, popping, grinding, scraping or rattling sound?
If you drive a manual transmission vehicle and notice a grinding noise, it can indicate the clutch gear is no longer disengaging correctly.

Blazers in park = rattling noise ..... Blazers in drive = whining sound & while driving on interstate (ranging 35mph-65mph) I can feel it hesitate when I press on gas almost as if it can't (but it doe)...

have you had the catalytic converter checked. When they break apart they will make a rattle ling noise. eventually the broken pieces will plug the exhaust and cause a lack of power feeling. When the exhaust is cold hit the bottom of the catalytic converter with your hand. If it rattles it is bad and needs to be replaced.

1999 Honda CR-V rattles during acceleration

Usually it is a loose rusted exhaust heat shield or shields.
Slide under and tap the exhaust system and shields from front (on the engine )to back.......there will be at least one rattle heard.

Vibration/Rattling on right side during high speeds

I had a similar problem. The dealer change automatic transmission and differential, but the noise continu. After research on internet i think the problem is the front galiper who create a vibration on the disc wheel and the vibration frequence follow the front axle until interior car. Just press slowly the brake pedal and if the noise stop , that's it the cause i think. I dont change my galiper, but i have a new transmission . :)))

GAS PEDAL

Check all the vacuum lines, sounds like one of them has split, or come off. Have somebody press the pedal while your listening under the hood to see if you can find where the air is coming from.
Just press the pedal enough to hear the air.
