I changed the a/c filter and have been trying to reset the light which says a/c filter change required but it won't reset. Can't understand why because I press reset as soon as it comes up but the status items just keep going.

All those lights etc on the right side of your dash
are not tied to anything

You don't have to change anything
or do anything. Oil,Cabin Filter etc

THEY ARE JUST GADGETS

Status does cycle
You press Reset & hold

When it says to hold, you
quickly press & hold Reset again

You can just forget all that

Doesn't do anything

You don't sit in your car &
call it up with the status button
& watch it anyway.

Brake Fluid-every 2 years --Flush/All Vehicles
Spark Plugs -- every 3 years,not over 60,000 miles
Fuel Filter --every 3 years

2006 Toyota Corolla le - maintenance light on front panel - engine serviced with oil and air filter changed two months ago. All liquids fine, car working well...what might it be??

  • That light is an indicator that the required miles have been drove and it's time to do an oil change. The light should be reset after every oil change as the computer keeps track of the miles to warn you when it's time again should you forget.

  • If you want to turn the light off then follow these steps.

  • Push and hold the trip button and then turn the ignition to on while holding the trip reset button. Keep holding for 10 seconds and the maintenance required light will go offf.

At 40,000 miles there is a "Required Service"

Hi.

The light means that the maintenance interval is over and that service is required. The procedure to turns off the light is reported on the owners manual but you are strongly advised to do service at intervals prescribed by manufacturer. Service will consist in oil change, fluids change, filters and general inspection.

Here the general procedure to reset service light.

1. Turn the ignition key to the 'OFF' position with the trip meter A reading shown.

2. Turn the ignition key to the 'ON' position while holding down the trip meter 'RESET' button.

Hold down the knob for at least 5 seconds. The odometer indicates '000000' and the light goes off.

Perform service as soon as possible.

Regards.

I have a 1999 gmc sierra with (as of 30 days ago cat. converter, fuel pump and filter, cap and rotor) changed in garage. regular oil changes, tune ups as of 8 mths. it has lots of cranking power, but...

If i understand you right the truck has been sitting for two years. If it has been sitting that long without running or moving the gas has turned to varnish...I suggest that you drain and refill the fuel tank, and replace the fuel filter located on/in the frame rail on drivers side.

I need to know how to fix the oil change light after a oil change on 2009 mercury grand marque. The panel on the car always says ''change oil soon'' but the oil has already been changed.

Hi!!

The person that changed the oil should have resetted the light.

Just drive to an AutoZone store, ask for somebody to check your vehicle computer codes, once they check them up, ask them to reset the change oil soon light, they would do this at no charge. This is a free service they offered to all their customers.

Don't forget to rate this post. Good luck!!
