Front End noise and vibration

Get a noise when turning around a corner and when driving the entire truck vibrates. It sounds like when a car has a bad front wheel axle.
Lifted four tires off the ground and it makes a jerking vibration only in four wheel drive and i turn the steering wheel all the way to the right or left.

truck seems to hop around corners when making a turn when in 4 wheel drive

  • Anonymous Mar 16, 2014

The truck makes a grinding sound on the left side of the front of the vehicle. I was told the boot on the four wheel drive axel is broke. Can I just take it off and drive it normal?

4 wheel drive is shimmering and causing car to run rough

I have a vibration at around 40 MPH and 80 MPH. The rear drivers side wheel looks like it hops. I've had the same issue with three, (3) different sets of wheels and tires. Can my axle be bent?

Check the U-joints and axle baerings. But its most likely because the truck is in four wheel drive.

What could cause a lot of noise in front end, until you apply brakes, then it stops

I would say to check the CV joints on the drive shafts for wear. Is there any noise or vibration when you turn a corner? If so, that's a definite sign of bad CV joints. Get them checked out by a qualified shop.

2003 Mitsubishi Outlander Grating Noise, Front Struts?

It very well could be the strut.
smaller chance could be the CV axle.
Also have the splash guards/heat shields checked to make sure they are all tight in place.

Severe vibration in front end at 60 mph. steering wheel also vibrates even at lower mph.

If it's front wheel drive the "C.V. Joints". The Constant Velosity Joints connect the front wheels to the drive shafts (R & L). Call around to front end alignment shops for quote about $175 to $225 +$130 if four wheel drive, more labor. Listen if is is noiser (clicking) in turns, than driving straight, if so CV's are bad.

I accelerate my 2000 neon, and it vibrates and get grinding noise

Check the front drive axles and boots. A bad cv (constant velocity) joint can cause this.

Vibration and noise from front end while driving

Jack up the front end and put stands under it and block rear wheels. Look at axle boots and see if they are cracked. Try turning wheel back and forth sharply and see if you can hear any clicking. Problem could be outer axle joints. If the boots are cracked or you hear a clicking noise you will have to replace the axle. The axle and boot come as a complete unit. Please let me know what you find out.

2003 envoy, low speed harmonic vibration in front end

hello have u rotated the tires front to rear then drive and see if u still have the noise and vibration if drive yes while driving slowely turn the steering wheel left to right just a small amount if the noise changes its probably a front wheel bearing if that doesn.t help drive the truck till you get the vibration then let up on the gas pedal does the noise go away if so you might have a bad u_joint but do the tires first how many miles???????

Front end vibration

It sounds as though your car has two seperate problems. The first problem with the vibration that goes away when you let off the gas pedal is caused by a bad INNER CV joint. It only vibrates when you are accelerating because that is when the joint is under stress. Your vehicle has two axles, each with an inner and an outer joint. My suggestion is to have a competent shop determine which is the bad side and replace the entire axle. The second vibration which occurs at any speed is most likely cause by either a bad tire, or a bent rim.
