    I am sorry for the mistake. I was not reading your post correctly. The relay is located on the transfer case. It is round and has either a 2 pin connector or a 3 pin connector. If you look at this location you can see pictures of the relay.

Will a 4L60E out of a 93 chevy silverado heavy half 4x4 work in a 96 chevy 1500 suburban 4x4?
there are a few differences in 96 there is a range indicator switch which also works as a neutral safety switch mounted on the selector shaft. if the 93 tranny is original it wont have the bosses to mount that switch.

My dome light came on while unattended and I can't shut it off,on my 91 chevy 4x4 truck. the door hinge has a little play in it on the drivers side'
That could do it. You really need to replace the door hinge pins and bushings. Make sure the instrument dimmer knob isnt all the way up. If you can push in on the switch and the light goes out, then you have found the reason.

1991 chevy 4x4 2500, we changed the distributor,
Timing chain and gears may need replacing. Is the timing correct? Like number 1 at top of compression stroke and the dist. is on 1. How about a new coil too. Try a coil first. They go bad on these a lot.

Check the fuse under the dash. Did you replace the inline fuel filter? If not, you could loosen the line going into the filter then turn the key to the on position. The pump should run for about 2 seconds then the relay should kick off. Turn off the key for approx. 5 seconds then cycle key back on and the pump should cycle again. If you get a 2 second burst of fuel each time then the pump is cycling. Install a new fuel filter and check the grounded wire by the tank. Hope this helps. :)
