Ok I would start by checking your shifter to make sure it adjusted right and you can do this by looking at your shift indicator if that is ok then might have a bad manual shift valve thats in the transmission, if that valve goes bad it would tell the pcm that your transmission is being shifted into another gear while your driving causing the Power control module (PCM) to out you vehicle into reduced engine mode

Its telling you your vehicle has been placed in limp mode to prevent damage. You need to have your computer checked for codes that should lead to the issue causing the limp mode or reduced power mode

I have a 2010 chevy cobalt. Engine power reduced light came on I took it to Autozone and had it scanned. Two codes popped up, p1682 and p0325. What could be wrong here?
As far as the cobalt, check tac/throttle actuator control. Below is circuit description for p1682.
The other codes was for knock sensor.

Hi Andrew, TC I believe is 'traction control'. I don't know for sure why the management system would read 'engine power reduced' and would suggest a visit to your dealer, to have a diagnostic scan carried out. It could very well be that moisture has contaminated the electronics.Regards Johngee10

DISPLAY READS ENGINE POWER REDUCED
Display reads "Engine Power Reduced" and sometimes won't accelerate beyond idle. Other times it accelerates normally. We have not yet noticed a pattern.
