Hello,

Replacing spark plugs is a fairly simple procedure.

1. Not required, however good safety measure is to disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Remove the plastic engine cover, should be a few bolts that hold it on.

3. Disconnect the wiring harness to the coil packs. There should be a tab you press, then pull straight back. Really look to see how they disconnect as you do not want to break them.

4. Clean the area around the coil packs as you do not want any dirt falling into the engine once you remove the spark plugs.

5. Pull out your coil packs (there may be a single both holding them to the engine - remove it as well), I just use two zap straps on the top and bottom of the protruding coil pack, and pull up by hand. This should get them out, they can be in there somewhat good, so a little muscle may be required. If you do not like the zap strap method, you can either try to pull them out by hand, or buy a coil pack puller.

6. Using a 5/8" spark plug socket, either one with the rubber grommet, or magnetic (I prefer magnetic as there is zero chance the rubber grommet with come off) connect it to a 3/8" extension bar and use even pressure when turning your wrench counter clockwise. They should break free!!

7. Pull out your spark plugs, they should be attached to your spark plug socket, if not just put your socket back down, and try to pick them out. If that fails, just use an extendable magnet to retrieve them.

8. Time for the new plugs! - Put a very light coat of anti-seize around the top 1/3 threads of the new spark plug, this will help next time you remove them.

9. Fit the new plug back onto your socket, and hand thread them in first to ensure they are not going in cross-threaded. Once you cannot tighten by hand any further, connect your ratchet, and snug them up another 1/4 to 1/2 turn.

10. Reconnect the coil pack wire harness.

11. Re-attach your plastic engine cover.

12. Re-connect your negative battery terminal.

13. Enjoy!!!

SOURCE: my hyundai accent piston rings need a change how

If it needs rings, it probably needs a lot of other engine work, like a cylinder hone, or if it's out of spec, a bore, which means new pistons and on. You might look into a good remanufactured engine that comes with a warrantee if your has a ton of miles on it.

None of the brake lights on my daughters 2010 Hyundai Accent, come on when she steps on the brake pedal. why?

You listed this vehicle as a 2006 Accent, yet you write it's a 2010.

If 2006, it's probably the brake lamp switch. However, I've seen all three brake light bulbs burn out within days of each other.

If 2010, it's still under warranty.

How do I get into the headlight to change the main bulb which has gone?

Here is the only literature I could find to help you. It is located in the Hyundai Accent Owners Manual under "Do It Yourself Maintenance" The shop manual doesn't even list the headlamp bulb, let alone tell you how to change it. Apparently, it is so simple to change, that they did not feel the need to explain it much.
